The answer is no.  First, Ripple is the company, and XRP is the currency.  XRP is not the currency of the future, but it may play a huge role in the global banking market.  Only time will tell.
Play in the banking arena and then there is a lot of manipulation from the bankers to make ripple looks the future of the cryptocurrency. But what's huge role of ripple in the global market? only become the project that develop the blockchain or similar system to the bankers.

Why on earth would banks need or want Ripple? They can already exchange funds easily using existing centralized networks -- blockchain is useless in that context.

A its a lot faster
B its a lot cheaper
C they can track everything until the money reach the account

The question is more why wouldnt banks want Ripple

Spot on.

"But soon banks will develop their own coin and Ripple will be useless" -- but this argument you can use to anything. Soon Bitcoin is useless because everyone will develop their own coins. Any coin can be replaced at any time with hundreds of new projects. Even if you can do something in theory, it doesn't necessarily make sense financially. Ripple have also tons of banks with them already for a good reason (and probably more coming).

because many people dont want it,

why should the creation of money be the most valuable job of all?

I think Ripple is so far ahead of the rest, that even if a bank decides they want to make their own coin, they just cant stop Ripple’s momentum.
They have a ton of banks supporting them like you say, plus so many unknown projects we dont even know exists. Ready to be announced anytime Smiley

I doubt it could be the future currency, XRP just started the journey to the second place and this all happened in fast pace, as we know fast pace coin is going to bounce back pretty fast, and xrp got a big problem, it's backup by banking system which a lot of people don't like, let's make the judgement again when XRP condition is at calm state, now people still pumping this coin, we don't know it's a pumping or people really buy it for investment

I agree with many of you. It is centralized and the company holds 55 million tokens. This is not what cryptocurrency is supposed to be.

Although Ripple is centralized and controlled currency and many (I'm including) are skeptical about this. But no one can deny that they have already signed many contracts with different financial corporations in different countries. That's why the price flies up. It overtook Ethereum on capitalization. This is a sensation. So it's up to you.

The tech is used off block?  who is minting or mining, generating billions of XRPs? let me sell my coins, I'm begging you.
Crypto is bullshit, Ripple will give me money for holy purposes such as matrimonial intercourse.
You don't need banks level of security if you are in a blockchain, Ripple has no blockchain.

I agree with many of you. It is centralized and the company holds 55 million tokens. This is not what cryptocurrency is supposed to be.

No it would not happen that Ripple will become the new global currency for the world. It is just an altcoin and cannot even surpass the bitcoin.

I think that this currency can achieve many things and is regulated  value in dollars and not in bitcoin, this means that it can have a great reach in the electronic economy but never its will be better tha

Ripple is not the future, because this coin only purpose is to be used between banks.
Ignore the religious wars between coins... the bitcoin and ripple are not in the same market. The use cases are different.

this is one of the surprising development. since japan launched Japan Bank Consortium Ripple has shown a high level of volatility, mainly because its trade is concentrated in two major markets, namely Japan and South Korea. so, i think its posibble for the ripple become the new global currency in the world.

Ripple is on the pump. Volume is rising constantly.
But interesting Bitcoin is on 39% domination index.
I think that is good to invest in ripple.
