RIPPLE Corrects 20% And Still Stays On Top Of Ethereum -- Interesting Thoughts

Ripple is correcting 20% today after a crazy stellar run up the day prior, rallying over 60%. This heavy pullback is normal and was to be expected. What's crazy to see is if Ripple will hold on to the #2 spot in the crypto market cap space.

My honest assessment is that it's another pump and dump scheme right now and just has the momentum. Ethereum is actually more utilized and has more utilization use cases than Ripple.

One thing Ripple does really well is using a new distributed ledger instead of using a blockchain. This effectively makes transaction speeds much faster, cheaper, and makes it so all the nodes don't have to store the entire blockchain data.

Overall it's fun to see these two battle it out. I think a lot of the growth of Ripple right now is in anticipation of Coinbase adding it as a traded coin. This will definitely increase volume, so should keep Ripple moving along. The drawback to this however, is that it's artificially pumping the price up so things are actually already priced in. This means the moves to the upsides aren't going to be as great since this anticipation has already become something everyone knows and is pricing.

Ripple is still more than 10% on top of Ethereum which are both at least 75% ahead of the fourth place coin which is Bitcoin Cash. Safe to say a change in 2nd and 3rd doesn't really do much.

Since Litecoin is a fork from Bitcoin and actually is an improvement in my mind, I think this could ultimately be a sign of Bitcoin's fate? Litecoin maintained 2nd and 3rd positions for a long time and is now struggling for 6th just ahead of IOTA which is still a token.

Alrighty, that's enough rant for now. Let me know your thoughts on Ripple vs Ethereum!!!

ethereum now ranks third on coinmarketcap after lagging behind the ripple, but it seems ethereum will catch up on this, ripple prices are now decreasing by 22%. and as we see eth prices are slowly ascending.

I had recently dumped my ethereum for ripple. The reason was simple, ripple was growing like a lion! Ethereum is good too...but idk if it can compete with XPR.

In my opinion, the potential of ethereum is far greater than that of XRP, so I prefer the ethereum.

Ethereum is populer for creating great contracts in the blockchain on the other hand ripple is a technology that act as a digital payment network for finicial transaction. In my view ripple and etheruem both can have a good future.

RIpple and ethereum was pretty impressive altcoin right now, how the price of ethereum already above $1040 and then ripple always increase everytime, Pos still even don't implemented to the ethereum network and it will become very big in the future.

Hardfork of Ethereum and integration of Casper can make Ethereum great again.
However, Ripple is already 50% of the capitalization of bitcoin, anabolic token lol Cheesy

Ethereum has begin to raise up more the price so its time to begin to have fear of missing out of investors. Many are investing in ethereum becasue eth has assets (Erc-20 token) which is you need ethereum to buy tokens and sell it again into eth on Etherdelta. And also the perception of other people is to invest in ethereum is makes money more profitable.

I can say that ripple is now stronger than ethereum, if you will look at the price gap the difference is so huge. But I can also say that this is a bubble for ripple

It is just horrible that ripple gets this attention and market cap. I am still positive that at some point all that will be dumped. Going back to a centralized system, after all, is just such nonsense. But yeah, if it gets listed on coinbase it probably will rise even more.

ETH has a lot of problems to its network though its a good platform,XRP has advantages if we are talking to tx confirmation speeds and it is much more cheaper to the new investors, but eth is more matured than XRP i will still choose ETH over XRP because it isnt that centralized like XRP.

Does Ripple have smart-contracts? Crypto kitties? Maybe someone cooler than Vitalik Buterin?
You know the answer. Ripple is a dead pseudo-crypto without a soul. Ethereum is true crypto with the slowest network and hard-boiled community.
Stay ETH

I am always surprised about how people talk about Ripple just because its price has increased hard last several weeks and its market cap is higher than Ethereum. It is kind of a private blockchain for banks and goes against the whole idea of decentralization. I do hold some for diversification purposes but not a core holding for me indeed.

Ethereum is more matured than XRP and XRP can be at the top for some time but eventually, Ethereum will be the top choice after btc.

The answer is Ethereum, of course. I think Ripple is a balloon. I don't buy Ripple. It may explode very soon and it may upset investors   Smiley

Really sincerely want your words to be true. There is only one thing to remember - XRP are driven by superb fat cat's managers who knows everything about speculations. Also they can easily regulate the price of the coin. Well I see that in several future years that will be really crucial struggle between those type of crypto platforms, with Ardor, Eos, Waves and others.

I agree with you. I think there are investors 80% of the whales who play their games to sell coins to noobs and to collapse it.
