Bitcoin is rapidly brightening as a target on New York state and Federal regulatory radars, and in the mainstream business media. (New York Times article again this morning, I believe).

Given that arc, if I were BFL, I'd worry that the Kansas AG might have higher political aspirations, and realizes that coming down on BFL for the amply-alleged abuses might make good press for him.  Put him right there on the front page of the Times along with the big guys in NY and DC.

Just sayin.

EDIT: Unless, of course, BFL or Sonny were big contributors to his last election campaign.  Mr Gage...?

One flaw: With the exception of a couple Greek Church donations, I don't believe the Vleisides Clan would ever donate to any political party/election campaign. Remember, Sonny Vleisides is from the Laissez Faire school, hence FLC in Costa Rica, of which those investors are still waiting for tens of millions to be returned to them. If Sonny Vleisides is capable of fucking over like-minded friends and investors, do you honestly believe he's turned over a new leaf and won't fuck over geeks that he's not even close to? Think about that, long and hard. Then ask for a refund.

Some day you'll thank me privately, like the just under 20 guys to date have. I can only imagine the number of guys who thanked me but never acknowledged it. To them, I say you're welcome.

Now, join the bowel movement and shit on BFL. Together, we can make one helluva stink.

Noooo! Don't help BFL clearing their backlog before october, I have a huge bet that they won't!

Just kidding, congratulations, hope they sink in that refund wave once and for all.
But then... What about the life-time warranty  Undecided ?

[OVER] RIDDLES 2nd edition --- this was claimed. Look out for 3rd edition!

Hmm.  No smart pyramid marketer ever goes without making political contributions to the Attorney General candidates in their target states.

I don't know how, politically, this AG can't pick up this ball.  Looks slam dunk.

If, regarding the rest of your post, you're reacting to my bolding of "alleged," that was just anti-troll flame retardant.  We all know the lay of land.

Could someone share a transaction ID (of paypal) of a refunded BFL-payment outside the 45 days, so other scammed forum members can relate to that and make paypal refund their orders, too ?
If they refund one, they should have to refund all. But they will try from case to case not to.
So we would have a  precedence for paypal ("But there you refunded, too").
Cheers

I called paypal today, in the UK. Got a very angry woman (due to what I told her) who told me she was going to investigate BFL and shut them down if what I say is found to be true. She advised me to get chargebacks for the debits made to my card. Some came from my PP balance so I'll call back next week to see if they have finished their investigation and see where it goes from there.

Didnt work for me even referring to that txn. Theyre claiming
- its been left too long and
- that its illegal for them to try and claw back funds from the vendor
- that they cant claw back funds for the vendor (for unmentioned reasons)

Going to have to try the chargeback route.

This one got a refund: https://www.facebook.com/ButterflyLabs/posts/622244797807330

Quote
Aaron Creamer You are right Ron. It DID say "up to 2 months" but they changed the fine print to what it is now. I also ordered in April. Just so you know I made a call to paypal this afternoon and requested a refund based on the fact that I hadn't received the goods. No questions asked paypal entered in an "escalated dispute" and within 5 minutes I received a cancellation/refund email from Butterfly Labs. It seems that BFL is on a special list at paypal and they are waiving the 45 day rule now and issuing refunds. I hope this helps.

Butterfly Labs has a different interpretation of the FTC Mail Order Rule.  You do not have a refund option with the BFL Monarch no matter how late they ship.

Keep trying.

You should also ask what their extension is if they do give refunds easily.

So this way, other people following behind you can ask PayPal to transfer them to the right extension.

Paypal has terminated BFL's account, so it's just going to get harder and harder to obtain a refund.

Also try informing PayPal that you wanted to give them a chance to resolve it first, before you went to your Credit Card company and issued a chargeback.
