[shazbits]

I'm using the multithread branch (downloaded the zip from github), it takes a long time to sync or rather verify (15mins), using 1 core at 100%, and during that time commands might return "can't connect to server". gen=0 in the conf.
When it's done (current block count is 476), cpu is idle, can start mining (i'm using 7 threads out of 8 cores I've got), it's been 1h and didn't find a block.
1 block is found like every 10 or 15 minutes by the network (I haven't timed it, I could be off).

anyone get multi-threading in linux to work? I can compile/run, but then cannot connect to the server via the daemon command. Very odd

Yes - this coin keeps barfing on me. Just got a seg-fault when running it with multi-thread. Can't connect to server... blah blah blah. More work is needed here

Here is a small patch for this.

Immediately after line 4873 of main.cpp, add this line:

         nHashesDone++;

Re-run the make file and you should now have a non-zero hashespersec.

If by "MVTE" address you mean a Receive coin address, I believe that the process is the same as with any other coin client:

1 - Open memorycoin-qt.exe
2 - Once open, click the "Receive" tab
3 - Click the "New Address" button, and give your new address a Label of your choice

Also the multi-core version still isn't 100% stable for me.
It runs for a few hours and then crashes with a runtime error.
I just downloaded the latest release but I assume this only fixes the hashes per sec issue and no stability issues.

I'm seeing some interesting results with hyperthreading.

On my i7 4770, 4 core with no hyperthreading, I was getting 11 - 12 hashes/s, processor running at 100%.

But with hyperthreading - that's 2 virtual cores per real core, for a total of 8, here are the results -

1 core - 16% - 3.6/s
2 core - 30% - 7.0/s
3 core - 43% - 9.9/s
4 core - 57% - 11.5/s
5 core - 69% - ~13/s
6 core - 80% - ~13.5/s
7 core - 93% - ~13.8/s
8 core -100% - ~14/s


Notice that the performance doesn't improve much after 5 cores so most of the performance is captured with just 4/5 cores. I think it's hitting a bottleneck in the L2 or L3 cache, which is great - it means just adding additional cores doesn't help much a.k.a GPU resistivity.

Yes - this coin keeps barfing on me. Just got a seg-fault when running it with multi-thread. Can't connect to server... blah blah blah. More work is needed here

The multithread branch from github worked for me without any fuss. the "cannot connect to the server" thing will last for few minutes with bitcoind taking 100% cpu thats normal. i assume thats the daemon trying to validate the existing blocks.... launch the daemon, wait for the cpu usage to stop. then the daemon will respond to rpc.

How do we view the Grant Blocks?  Is this a report that you run?  If so, can we get a copy.  Was hoping for a better understanding....

If you start with a ''-reindex=1'' it'll output some info about all the grant blocks in the log file. It's pretty messy though.

Also, what does "Candidate Eliminated" mean?

...also as feedback, the new client is importing keys fine and the grant process seems to be working\rewarding fine.  Also, I was mining for 2 hours with 90+ % cpu on windows 7 AMD 6-core and found a block.Everything good except the loooooooooong startup time.

Thanks - can you post some more about your CPU type and hash rate? You might be able to cut back to 3 or 4 cores and get the same performance.
