what blockheight is it now ? atm I see atleast 2 different invalid chains at heights 2479 and 2962. Looks a bit like a forked blockchain to me. Tho it could be some obsolete chains ghosting around while im at initial DL.
EDIT: from debug.log -> "receive version message: version 70001, blocks=4407" hmm....

I am having an issue with block 2479 when I compile with gcc 4.2.   On the same system (BSD) I get an instant
crash when I compile with gcc 4.8 or clang 3.3.

What compiler or build are you using?  What OS?

FreeTrade, I have some question about the votes,

In the log you can see that some address are eliminated on round 2
Those address have a lots off votes (~10,000)
And on round 4 you see others address are eliminated, but they have a much lower number of votes (~1,000 or less)

How come the biggest get eliminated first ?
Is this a bug ?

I doubt it is a bug.  Without an example, it is hard to say....But for example, see block award for 4460.  Are you asking why MVTEoEohmThgMYijuR2oPZSmStTdycrGzp was eliminated in round 1 (balance 7233) when in round 3 there is someone with lower balance (2457)........Appears to be that account MNNFraHV8KfeLoqib6Vwf6P31twihjRqQD was voting for MVTEoEohmThgMYijuR2oPZSmStTdycrGzp and MVTEoEoHX4XhRkJnkGVLKDYhHG4MbJDVCT.  When the grant went to MVTEoEoHX4XhRkJnkGVLKDYhHG4MbJDVCT, his MVTEoEohmThgMYijuR2oPZSmStTdycrGzp was eliminated because those votes were used up by VCT....or some went to VCT and the remainder left the Gzp account below the number of votes of those that had already been eliminated.

My take on it at least.

Block 4460:

Award Round:0
Candidates Eliminated (19)
Candidate Eliminated: MVTEoEorjtwtccACwSTb53uJcjmjUnyexu(1488)
Candidate Eliminated: MVTEoEoiZ8QhdkbiFmvWqA8RcWhg5QX9JA(1488)
Candidate Eliminated: MVTEoEocT88fm2fZuyNFgrD9W5nEKVtqaH(2497)
Candidate Elected: MVTEoEomFfe7WuSEepMLsorgYzCQGBVw1z (15867)
Surplus Transfer Value: 0.131896
-------------:
Award Round:1
Candidates Eliminated (2)
Candidate Eliminated: MVTEoEohmThgMYijuR2oPZSmStTdycrGzp(7233)
Candidate Elected: MVTEoEoHX4XhRkJnkGVLKDYhHG4MbJDVCT (16835)
Surplus Transfer Value: 0.181818
-------------:
Award Round:2
Candidate Eliminated: MVTEoEo5LgYAMVh95oBBfGPj2eCDzkuJC3(10603)
Candidate Elected: MVTEoEoXmYzFydRfg5uNJRewt9tZ329fAN (19569)
Surplus Transfer Value: 0.296135
-------------:
Award Round:3
Candidates Eliminated (6)
Candidate Eliminated: MVTE2E2WrdHtk8Mj61V1H9b41zcE6W33Cv(2457)
Candidate Elected: MVTEoEoUtxKDFLVRJt8c79oqP5C2GB9oBP (13514)
Surplus Transfer Value: 0
-------------:
Award Round:4
Candidate Elected: MVTEoEoiMwtXEeHDUYfuwA9ZvbKSH8Jfqb (11172)
Surplus Transfer Value: 0

On the contrary rGzp is eliminated, then DVCT get the votes (2nd choice) who where on rGzp (1st choice).
->Balance:7233 - MNNFraHV8KfeLoqib6Vwf6P31twihjRqQD
--Preference 1 10000 MVTEoEohmThgMYijuR2oPZSmStTdycrGzp
--Preference 2 30000 MVTEoEoHX4XhRkJnkGVLKDYhHG4MbJDVCT

But I was not referring to that but : uJC3 with (10603) eliminated on round 2, then after there are even address with (46) who get eliminated on round 3

Award Round:3
Candidate Eliminated: MVTE2E2QkUKbxdkEFTPZ2UY6W5PE5G2Hse(46)
Candidate Eliminated: MVTEoEoyZywJ7gvHmZKJWK9nY1UtzzH1Aa(248)

I sent a bunch of coins over to bter, came back hours later to find I was apparently not synced with the blockchain anymore, restarted qt and now my transaction of over 443 coins is sitting at 0 confirmations and they are gone from my wallet.  What the hell happened to my coins?

transactionID?   Double click on transaction.....copy....paste here....  I've noticed that sometimes you need to wait for the first confirmation when sending.

Status: 0/unconfirmed
Date: 8/23/2013 02:24
To: MMBWC43KSr3L1HEhASimHsBdwBF1FS98qj
Debit: -443.465899 MEG
Net amount: -443.465899 MEG
Transaction ID: b408b6fedc3ca911e269ac13e0c6e66da8733289370acf99b70995f16b65e955

Checked block explorer and nothing shows up

Sounds like a rescan might be needed.  Make a backup copy of wallet and read the following....This sounds like your problem.  It occurs on all coins, though I have never had the issue.

http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/1249/how-exactly-does-rescan-work

Let us know if it helps.

It showed up in block 4338...http://memorycoin.21stcenturymoneytalk.org/?tx=b408b6fedc3ca911e269ac13e0c6e66da8733289370acf99b70995f16b65e955

.

Yes, it did finally show up.  I'm done with this coin now anyway.  The qt is constantly desyncing, can't keep it synced for more than a few blocks at a time.

This coin is a total scam. The manifesto is a lie.

FreeTrade purposefully kept UPnP out of the client so that people wouldn't be able to mine memorycoins.

Code:
  SHA512((pbegin == pend ? pblank : (unsigned char*)&pbegin[0]), (pend - pbegin) * sizeof(pbegin[0]), (unsigned char*)&csoh);
   for(int i=0;i<12;i++){
      scrypt(csoh, HASHLENGTH, csoh, HASHLENGTH, 12, 1, 1, (unsigned char*)&csoh, HASHLENGTH);
      for(int j=0;j<10;j++){
         scrypt(csoh, HASHLENGTH, csoh, HASHLENGTH, 8, 1, 1, (unsigned char*)&csoh, HASHLENGTH);
         SHA512(csoh, HASHLENGTH, (unsigned char*)&csoh);
      }
   }
   scrypt(csoh, HASHLENGTH, csoh, HASHLENGTH, 10, 8, 1, (unsigned char*)&csoh, HASHLENGTH);
   uint256 hash2;
   SHA256((unsigned char*)&csoh, sizeof(csoh), (unsigned char*)&hash2);

This should still be easily implementable on the GPU, you just need to test and coordinate what the proper load balancing would be.  Via the TMTO trick, you can reduce memory consumption of the larger memory hashes and subsequently take longer to do them; so, you pipe a large number of these threads along with a small number of threads doing the small memory hashes and you should still get a pretty solid GPU advantage.

FreeTrade did this on purpose because it's a subtle way to cheat all of you without you noticing.

He is a bad person.

It's the reason for all the orphans, the reason most people couldn't get into the network.

There's been 50 alt-coins made by newbies, they all have UPnP support. FreeTrade knows 100% well how to easily set it up in the compile. He did this to make sure that you guys would stay off the network for a while and lose to orphans. It's his version of the pre-mine.

He is a liar.

I am mining from the very beginning. I did not have any orphans.
What is your story with the "UPnP support"Huh
If some one's coin does not have the "UPnP support", than He is a bad person??? Smiley

Dude, I can sleep easy on this one, he didnt pre-mine or mine while there were problems, look at the block history, do some homework. personally ive had very little errors with mining. People usually post if they are having config issues or problems, most forums are complaints and very little congrats, human nature.

I invite people who vote for the Revolution Pool to also vote for FreeTrade as a second choice,
since he is out the grant now.

Anybody else can vote for him to, votes are very low (65%) so it will be easy to get him back in.

I was in at the beginning, and although it didn't go smoothly, I certainly got the impression FreeTrade was actively trying to sort things out. And he gave all of us early-birds a bonus to make up for it. I don't believe he  was trying to trick us.

Yes, he tricked you, and lied to all of you.

I know for fact he knows how to setup UPnP.
He has set it up before.

Why are the foundations (that are requesting our votes) not voting themselves?

->Balance:1191 - MVTEoEomFfe7WuSEepMLsorgYzCQGBVw1z   <-21st Century foundation
---->Wasted:1191 (Add More Preferences)

->Balance:454 - MVTEoEo5LgYAMVh95oBBfGPj2eCDzkuJC3    <-FreeTrade
---->Wasted:454 (Add More Preferences)

The 21st Century foundation has potentially 1191 votes it is not using!  Can't they just send one MEG satashi to themselves?

FreeTrade still needs help (your votes) to get grants.  {He probably is moving coins to a voting wallet.}

Oh, we are voting.   It just seems our votes are currently not mattering.

Also, looks like we have started to lose our grant.  I guess the coin users don't like voting to support the coin development.

I have two questions. (related to debug.log)

1.

--------Grant Voting--------
---Current Balances------
8 addresses with balances. Printing Top 20

Are there really only 8 addresses that can be voted for?

2.

I see these lines all over the log:

-------------:
Award Round:0
No Candidates with support remaining. Grant awarded to developer MVTEoEoww5Zz1SJ5DLcbdrxGwSY8VgFZDk
-------------:
Award Round:1
No Candidates with support remaining. Grant awarded to developer MVTEoEoww5Zz1SJ5DLcbdrxGwSY8VgFZDk
-------------:
Award Round:2
No Candidates with support remaining. Grant awarded to developer MVTEoEoww5Zz1SJ5DLcbdrxGwSY8VgFZDk
-------------:
Award Round:3
No Candidates with support remaining. Grant awarded to developer MVTEoEoww5Zz1SJ5DLcbdrxGwSY8VgFZDk
-------------:
Award Round:4
No Candidates with support remaining. Grant awarded to developer MVTEoEoww5Zz1SJ5DLcbdrxGwSY8VgFZDk
--------End Grant Voting--------

Would please someone explain the meaning of them?

I have tried to switch my voting preferences between "pref 1" and "pref 2" by sending 1 satoshi to the address I wanted to be pref1 and 2 satoshi to the address i wanted to be pref2.
Some how it did not work out...

Hoarders currently have 3 grants now (MVTEoEoUtxKDFLVRJt8c79oqP5C2GB9oBP and MVTEoEoHX4XhRkJnkGVLKDYhHG4MbJDVCT\MVTEoEohmThgMYijuR2oPZSmStTdycrGzp - same person).  This is not acceptable.  I have cancelled all my BUY orders.  No use in supporting a coin that is not meeting its purpose.  Hoarders have killed this coin.  If not resolved, I'm dumping all mine tomorrow and declaring dead.

Hoarders, join the voting pool, or you will be killing the coin.  You are standing in the way of needed development.

I actually think the voting pool had the opposite of the effect that was intended.  It took away a number of the mid tier holders votes from the existing grants,  and let the hoarders stay in longer then they otherwise would have.  Will be interesting to see if that changes anytime soon or not.

I think it is way too soon to call it dead, as the dynamics are still in flux.

I pieced it together...This is how FreeTrade lost his grant (again)....An account with alot of coins MTukQztMUSXVrNhf9Wa2APd9tt5vKmCoeo sold a 4000+ MEG chunk of coins.  That is fine.  However, those were coins that spilled over after MVTEoEoUtxKDFLVRJt8c79oqP5C2GB9oBP granted and rolled over to FreeTrade  (coins in excess of the first grant) during voting.

When they sold the coins, they no longer flow to FreeTrade, knocking him out of votes for grant.

Yep - you got it spot on.
