if you have two bitcoin and altcoin assets then do not sell your altcoin because it has two bitcoin assets and altcoin is your initial goal. but if you only have altcoin then the decision to sell your altcoin to switch to bitcoin is good.

Bitcoin probably will back to 20k soon, but the question is what altcoins do you hold? If there have a good project and rising on the market, you can still have them and also invest some money on bitcoin, because it's not 100% true, that btc will back to 20k and have alternative option always is a good way.

Who said you that if Bitcoin price goes up then all altcoins value will be gone down. And you should not sell your altcoin, the best part is buy a bitcoin and hold it for 5 years. Whenever bitcoin price goes up or down, only few altcoins value will get changes not all.

it all depends on your wallet, if you have all the capital in altcoin, then you definitely need to buy BTC, selling several of your altkoins, but you do not need to sell all your altcoin, even if the BTC grows to $ 20,000 then altcoin and a couple more coins will also grow.

Nobody can predict the future. It is always better to hold cheap but good potential altcoins. It's on you to decide whether you want to stick with your altcoin projects or invest all in Bitcoin or a better choice of investing in both Bitcoin and altcoins.
