Report abuse to gandi.net and cloudflare. If coinsmarkets can't fix the problem they can allow coins withdrawal to give the customers the change to move on, not keeping the customers money hostage.

I bet the database is corrupt and cannot be recovered.  They probably are trying to sort out this mess working transactions to transactions manually.  But probably can't sort this out.

I am also guessing 99% of the funds are intact, but they can't possibly come back online even of 0.5 % funds are missing because they don't know who's done what.

Just a hunch.

I also have this feeling. I think the database corrupted somehow. Also think the trades happening at the point of shutdown must have been a nightmare to deal with. Would be nice if they could just give an update on the situation and where they are in the upgrading process. Even if it is 3rd world broken English.

It doese not surprise me that a direct competitor spreads such news. This doese not worry me.

But 9 days downtime is a lot now.

This is not a migration, in software when migrating old system keeps running while making a copy of it to the new system and redirect users from old system to the new one. Something went horribly wrong. Not the DB because DB has a daily backup or better a replica(s) (master-slave(s)). What is terrifying is
 coinsmarkets silence.

Yes, taking customers money hostage is fraud. will keep contacting what ever authority necessary until give a clear announcement
what is going on. "almost finished" does not means 5 days. "few" means almost zero.

coinsmarkets went down on 3rd january

its been 9 days

this is a new IP 185.66.143.252 coinsmarkets is running on.

yesterday it was 185.66.143.224.

it appears someone is working or doing something.

at a guess it appears they are struggling with it all

That IP is some small operator in the Netherlands. Meaning they are not in law free territory.

So give them some time still, but not too much.

Coinsmarkets did a serious damage to users, and don't have the right to be angry, sent 3 emails and result in announcement in coinsmarkets main page, wondering what will be look at their faces when calling the police on Monday. So they have less than 2.5 days to fix this miss.

Yes I agree. They should have communicated better with its customers. All they had to do was come on here or either twitter and update people in a reasonable fashion. I'm sure they can recover from the damage done. But in the future they have to have better customer relations.

I hope they can recover, but more importantly they can give us back access to our funds sitting there.

Trading and withdraw are different services (called microservices) that can function in isolation of each other, and to
disable withdraw is why people are angry. Coinsmarkets is a scam and fraud for holding your money.

They definitely could have communicated better. I don't see why not just have a telegram for delivering updates for example. I'll continue to give them their time for now since I continue to see small updates on their site.
