I'm fan of Dogecoin, but it's not very good coin to invest. You can find many better coins to invest. But when you investing in DOGE, you not risking much.
I think it's better to use DOGE as currency for payments and for transfees between exchanges. It's widely accepted, transactions are fast and extremely cheap. Doge has advantage against BTC. Sadly I'm not holding big amount of DOGE now after I sold almost all few months ago.

Doge was one of the first coins I bought when I started crypto about 6 weeks ago.  As a learning experience for my 10 year old son I let hem purchase $10 worth and I purchased a few thousand too.  He sold last week and made $5!  I suggested he dump it earlier this week. It has been established years ago and has been present since; however, it's value have never risen that much since its onset. DOGE is a nice, sympathetic currency, but that is it... People are friendly to DOGE, but nothing more than this, I believe it's a currency without ambitions to rise and become one of the top Crypto-Currencies. It will probably continue as an alternative secundary currency being used in key moments when BTC is too expensive to use. 2018 is the year of Bitcoin, consequently some AltCoins will have their prices increased too.

Bitcoin's fees are getting higher and higher and the confirmation time takes longer everyday. And here is where these alts came in, the alts are made to fill the disadvantages of bitcoin.

Regarding DOGE, I did not expect that its price will soar this high even if its supply is unlimited.  It just shows that people are now recognizing these coins which are really nice for the growth of the crypto world, where the focus of the people is being distributed to other coins and not just on bitcoin.

Dogecoin is not good altcoin because it is most likely dead without moving for long time. If we invest in dogecoin i think this is good choice. Sometime dogecoin only for sending and reduce the fee but not as investment.

Look at the graph over a couple years. Long term investment no. But buy all the time it's under 40 and sell when it hits 80. 2x+ once or twice a year. Don't be greedy looking for something that will make you rich overnight and you can find all sorts of coins like this.

The Doge has been around for a long time and the value has not risen significantly so far. I do not think he will rise to a certain size in the near future.
There are definitely better coins to invest in. I highly recommend ripple, but other coins are also promising. Stellar, Tron or IOTA. Stellar has risen again in the last few days.
