I think you should buy after the exchange, so it is safer for you, if you buy in ico at the time you can not be sure that the coin can be traded in large trading places.
I agree with you, besides now there are a lot of coins on the exchanges that are very worthy to buy. And the price for which is even lower than at the time of ICO.

ICO or buy later on exchange - it depends on ICO - if you cant participate in very high project, you can try to pick up on exchanges, if will drop in price.

I have some experience in ICO. As my company are providers for ICO services. I shall say that the price of new token/coin is allways first drops down. because different reasons, but usually that is because bounty participants are just trying to sell all the tokens in few first days.
Therefore some ICOs skip sale stage, but in this case it is wrong to name them ICO, it is better to name this just crypto project

If the project is really promising, then after the completion of the ico Company, coins may start to raise their price. an example can lead PundiX, which immediately began to increase in price to 30% after some time.

I don't like anymore investing in ICOs. I lost too much money in the past. Too risky. I prefer new gems, aleady for sale on exchanges. Exchanges are much more safe and I like coins present on coinmarketcap too.

I suggest that only 1/10 of your investments should be on ICO. It will help you to make more profits with that method. Even if you failed and lose money in ICO, you still have the altcoins that you bought on exchanges to recover them but if you chose a good ICO luckily, it's a much faster 50x-100x when it gets listed.

The big plus buys in ICO in the first stages with high discounts and bonuses. But, I would like to buy on exchanges. Most of the time when the coins listed on exchanges their prices are a lot lower than the ICO price. I had the same situation with a couple of different ICOs. Of course, all depend from a project.

the different between buying some tokens in ICO and buying it from exchange is, if you buy directly from ICO indirectly you involve your self on ICO's community, paying attention on every news comes from developer, doing very proper research on ICO's project and you will get bonus tokens provided by developer. if you only buy it from exchange i think there are some speculation move without a proper research on token's project and development. you are more doing reasearch on the trend of some coins, yes it is you will often get more cheaper price than ICO price on the first listing in exchange, but it is not enough if you want to invest on cryptocurrency.

Not a huge difference. The price from ICO has historically been 2-5% lower than market when the period ends, though some periods end up more expensive than market so honestly it is a gamble.
Lots of factors to consider. How much you are purchasing, is it short-term/long-term, what markets do you have access to, etc.

Good advice. You can still earn by buying tokens on a small exchange and then sell them when they are already bargaining for a big exchange at the start of trading you can get a quick profit.

I thinks it depends on the project, when the project is promising and you notice that it has a good marketing system and have a great team developers it is better to buy token/altcoins in ICO. Because in Ico they have a private sale which is more discount you can get but sometimes when the token are being listed on exchange it has a big difference between ICo price and exchange price. Sometimes it has a low price when the token/coins are listed on exchange.

It depends on the project, of course, but I think it makes sense to get it from the ICO in general. As a result, even if you fall in expectation, the time comes to break even higher.

In this market as it is now, it is rather better to select projects on exchanges. Many ICO, even the top projects, came out in the negative and after months of expectations. Plus a bit of FUD and all, you're always an investor. Now in a month there are about 300 different projects, and in plus units are traded. Many even on the stock exchange can not get, not to mention the bench. That is, there is a high risk

Be smart before investing, what is your purpose to invest.. for support the tokens / project or looking some an opportunities? hit and run? There is like be gambling for us. But I'm prefer to buy the tokens at ICO sale, 'cause we know... we have chance to get bonuses (%). So before jump to the markets, we has be winner (profits).

market is really bad to jump into any ICO now. So you should buy any at very good bargain haha maybe 2 or 3 times less than price in ICO

You can actually tell by looking at the tokenomics and the sale amount. If there is a reason for the coins to be used for anything or held, and the commitment ratio is high (if it's a network utility token, what it will be 'worth' when the system launches divided by the total amount raised) then the price should technically not plummet so hard after the ICO. Another element is the hype level around the ICO, the existence of users on the platform, or reason to actually use the tokens that will inform the post-ico demand for tokens on open markets or exchanges. If they don't hit the hard cap in the ICO and nobody has any reason to own them except for speculation, those coins are getting dumped! Almost every ICO of the last 3-4 months is below its selling price, due to the bear market. But there are also some Ico that are much above their selling price, such as Quarkchain, Credits, Zilliqa, Pchain, etc.
My advice is to invest in Ico but like everything, before investing money, you have to study the projects well, and never invest too much or what you need to live!

Sometimes it is very hard to justify because some companies will increase their price after listing in the exchanges. I think buying in ICO's is always good option through bonus we are going to get a much higher bonus. It completely depends on the company if the company has potential the price may decrease after listing and starts increasing after 3 or 4months. Here we have to act according to the situation of the company.

sometimes, the price does not match the ICO price, but sometimes investment offers something very profitable compared to buying it in the market. but, of course it all depends on the type of project. sometimes we do not know which projects will grow big in the future.

It's depend on invest what you can afford to lose. But, for me, we can get best opportunity and biggest gain when we buy a coin at ico phase. We can see how many crypto that prove biggest gain since ico like eth, stratis, eos, qtum, zil, icx, ada, and many more. But, you should know that there is always a risk behind the opportunity. The risk is a something like scam ico, failure to achieveable a roadmap, weak community on that coin. So, before invest on a ico, do your own researc about that coin from every aspect like whitepaper, roadmap, price of ico, comparison with another coin, and the most important about dev on that ico. Better to lose your chance than lose your money.
