With Essentia, identity is a core module, but not the only function of Essentia. Essentia is the most complete and only solution to make decentralized users a reality. Therefore, identity is a much needed and core function that a user may need, but we're a decentralized user system.

Essentia Identities don't require any centralized app, email or phone number. In Essentia you just sign and verify messages to handle authorizations and you can use it from any device, UI or even command line. Doing that in the examples mentioned is not possible.


As far as the date for the crowdsale, we do not have this set in stone just yet, but have started whitelisting.
