Hi, I hold a few tokens of varied nature and a few coins. I have setup a few eth addresses for the younger members of my family. I am talking about kids that are less than 3 yr old   Wink So, what would you include in their new accounts, so that they can use it in 15 yrs?

Just use list of top 20 from coinmarketcap. If not all these coins will be successful after 15 years, definetly most of them will grow.  Smiley

In this case you should pick the top 10 in the market cap.
Example: litecoin, ethereum, bitcoin, etc.
I believe above mention coin are more stable for keep long term.

SONM and GOLEM are both almost guaranteed profits for the long term future. also short term, but just slow.
Thats because this technology offers massive things and will be used by the whole world to render 4k movies etc. However: It's not really usable yet. In a year, it will be.

Ethereum has the best perspective
Do ethereum do updates?

They've already seen some congestion issues the last weeks. Something basically only bitcoin has seen before, and where bitcoin only was a pay plattform and has become more of a storage of value plattform, ethereum has a more advanced system, and will lose more on congestion. If ethereum loses its edge due to congestion and making it unusable for its originally intended purpose like bitcoin has, it won't have the advantage bitcoin has being the first and original.
As a storage-of-value bitcoin will be a real tough contender.

So long that it is difficult to predict. I would have bought litecoin, and Ethereum, I would have kept it for at least five years. I think it is a good investment.

The best coins for this long hold term are Bitcoin and Ethereum for me. Bitcoin achieved very a lot and can achieve more like ethereum in the last time

BTC + ETH
and also IMHO - Cardano (ADA), really good team, huge cap & potential.
not so expensive at the moment. it may conquer ETH in some circumstances in a year or two

It is an eth address so you can atleast have 1 eth in it. For tokens you can buy pkt and CAPP, these projects are good long term investments.

You should also consider giving them NEM and ltc.

I will use the top 15 or top 20 market capitalisation of coinmarketcap. I will also take a look if the coins have a secure wallet (better if they can be used with and hardware one)...

This is a pretty interested idea, but it's already very far-sighted, because it's hard to say which market will be for such a long time.

I liked the idea but15 years seem to be so long period & crypto field is very young so radically changes have high probability to happen which may lead to a totally different crypto technology as well as new coins may be created and existed coins may also disappear

apart from this question, which coin you will pick up for your younger family members at the end (but would also say ETH is a good pick for a project like this), it is a pretty nice idea and i whish you just the best for you and your little friends :-)

I hope you can try to consider about mid-cap altcoin and why?  Because there's a lot of room for growth, remember qtum, neo and others altcoin started from less than 0.3 for the ico price. You just need to consider about the midcap altcoin rather than major coin because there is a possibility to make your brother hundred thousands dollar or even million dollars.

Like others here have said; I would also look at the market charts and I would include the top coins on the list of your family member. If the small money amount is invested they can except only profit in the end. With the big money investment, there also comes the possible risk of the failure to gain the profit.

Ethereum and bitcoin are so good for long term holding. And also buy some coin which do you think have a power and chance to increase the price when 15 years will be finished

I believe etherum is one of the best investment to make at current time. It's value in future is nearly secure and has a high chance of exponential growth.
Other cheap Etherish coins too can be useful for long term like NEO, NEM, etc.

Every year there are new coins with new technologies. Trends are changing too fast. Nobody will ever give you a good answer. I would say there is no currently such crypto that could be used in 15 years. Perhaps only ETH.
