Differentiate is the best advice can give you. Don’t put everything in one coin. If that one coin fails you will lose everything.
I have a few low budget coins and a few big players in total I have 9 coins that I am holding. Other I am using for trading.

I think you should invest 50% in Bitcoin because bitcoin is the king of all crypto currency and all currency follow it and its the ever green coin.Second you should invest 20% in Ether because Ether because Ethereum is an open software platform based on blockchain technology that enables developers to build and deploy decentralized applications.And remaining 30% invest in Cardano, Steller, Dentacoin and Tron.

Nobody can give you an answer there and most will want to shill their own coins they're invested in. You need to determine your risk profile, how much you're willing to win but also potentially lose, whether you're in it for some quick cash or you're a long term holder, are you willing to have accounts on several platforms or do you want to only trade on one, are you willing to invest in ICOs, etc.

So you can invest in ICO projects, and I think $2,000 is a good ICO project, so the payoff is huge.

If you consider long term investments the best option is the first 10 altcoins (I mean considering altcoin capitalization)

pick on ETH, already high enough but with the news of hardfork i still hold it and wait untill hardfork come, i think it can be higher than now. ETH always be promising coin

Dont listen to people pitching one coin or ICO, they usual invested and just pumping.

2k I would go for 1200-1500 on 4-5 coins you like from research/recommend/like the logo. then 500 back for a couple of popular ICO.  keep back 200 or so for an "opportunity", to day trade whatever.  And avoid anything that has just massively ramped up, it might be good in the future but you're probably going to buy a high, if you like the project wait and see.  Dont buy Bitcoin unless you want to hold it,  or you'll lose $50 your first day moving to exchanges, buy ETH initially to transfer to other exchanges, and works for more ICO.

You can invest in ICOs. But you should choose the ico programs you will take because others are scams. So you should study carefully every time you get involved because it may be the reason for your money to be accumulated only by the evil people...

I'd recommend splitting and investing in four or five most popular and promising altcoins. In my opinion the best way is to spend $1000 on Ethereum, $500 on Ripple and the rest on other two or three decent altcoins from top-10 list.

Diversify your investment. Invest in all sectors. Invest in currencies, cryptocurrencies. If you want to invest in cryptocurrencies then invest in different coins not in one coin. Other than bitcoin altcoins are the best options. Ethereum, Litecoin are the best options. Invest 50% amount in bitcoin and remaining 50% in altcoins. Altcoins work under the shadow of bitcoin currency. They have potentials to become successful like bitcoin currency.
