I still run the old wallet because my pc won't let me run the new one because of continues virus messages. I know it could be a false-positive but the old wallet did not have that. Can someone tell me what the consequences will be if you let the old wallet run while some sort of fork takes place? I haven't been this confused about a coin in a long time. Don't know what to do really

I the user was talking in reference to "what to do with old coins"  Some exchanges have the wallet locked and are blaming on your team.  Just like in your response above in 6 lines, can you do the same in regards to explaining what exactly to do with the old coins when the wallet is locked in 6 lines or less.

When fork occurs, the old algorithm will work too, but as the coin goes to a new algorithm - the stock exchange also goes to the new algorithm. Who then sell coins from the old algorithm if they are not sold anywhere? And change later, make a profit and switch to a new algorithm, too, will not work - there will be a conflict of algorithms and a loss of all coins.

Your theorical maths are right facts show otherwise.
After 24 days from January 11th to this day the SHND supply went from 12T to 16.11T. At a theorical 100% rate it should be 21.6T So it's only a 43% staking percentage. The hardfork isn't not much needed then.
This percentage will continue to decrease overtime due to the nature of the actual limitation of the coin. So the hardfork is even less needed.

lol. cos what's 4T coins between a small group of friends ?
at the current price of everything,
thats only $4.9m worth added in 24 days ... does not seem very sustainable.

i agree to some extent with your feelings on the fork, it's a terrible thing to fork a coin
but desperate times seem to need desperate measures.

and there's nothing we can do about you choosing to run 60004, but if the exchanges update with us to 60005 where does that leave you ?

I was answered from the exchange - during the fork for 3 days and after 3 days, it is undesirable to do the movements of coins - they may disappear or hang for a very long time. Coins stored on the exchange will be updated automatically, you can keep them there.

I'm holding coins right now in the old 1.4.1 wallet.  I know I have to update the wallet to use with the upcoming hard fork. However all antivirus programs keep warning me about the new wallet so I'm not going to install it on my pc.
Maybe I have to find a seperate pc to use it on just in case.

I have other wallets staking and cannot risk any sort of program that is flagged as a virus
