Encrypted messaging startup Telegram plans to launch its own blockchain platform and native cryptocurrency, powering payments on its chat app and beyond. According to multiple sources which have spoken to TechCrunch, the “Telegram Open Network” (TON) will be a new, ‘third generation’ blockchain with superior capabilities, after Bitcoin and, later, Ethereum paved the way.
The launch will be funded with an enormous Initial Coin Offering, with forthcoming private pre-sales ranging into the hundreds of millions, potentially making it one of the largest ICOs to date. Demand is driven by the fact that rather than the ICO coming from a fresh startup, Telegram is a well-established messaging platform used around the world.

Today everybody is discussing this topic. What is interesting is that Durov is not planning to deal with a lot of Russian investors. He said that he wants to create global ICO. As for me I am going to participate in this project.

I think the telegram ico will be one of the biggest in 2018. Telegram is already established as the main communication tool for most people in cryptos at the moment. If it is able to integrate the solutions which make participating in Ico’s easier then it will moon for sure!!

Biggest most probably, stupidest? Also most probably because I can't fathom a reason for Telegram to do this other than they are a big company and they see blockchain as a money grab. Why else would you run an ICO for something you could use your own funds for? Greedy, greedy, greedy, and I hope it fails like the Hindenburg did  .

this will be huge. The telegram app is great to use, and i love it. Will all the users of the app beenig informed on this ICO it sure will be the bigest ico ever. The problem is that also tezos was huge, and in those days was the biggest ico. And it is pure scam. I hope the story with the telegram ICO will be different.

As history taught us, there are numerous cases in which scammers announced similar news, deceiving the uninitiated, forcing them to spend large amounts of money on ICO's which proved to be SCAMS later. Then people get distressed about such risky and shady investments and dismantle the whole idea of ICO's. BS! There must be a credible source behind each news, otherwise, as Trump would say "It is fake news!". Personally, I strongly believe that until Durov comes out and announces more information on TON, it will be a red flag. For example, I've invested in such shady ICO projects in the past and paid the price. Since then, I'm meticulously scrutinizing each project at its finest, analyze their team, whitepaper, potential, etc. For example, I've currently invested in preeminent initial coin offerings, such as Monero, Giftz, and Cointed. I'd advise you to read a lot prior to investing in anything. For example, there are many great upcoming projects, such as ATF, Bee Token, etc.

Durov, posted twitter about global news and updates in Q1 2018. I think that this information attack on telegrams is done only to attract new investors in the future.

Waiting for a public sale will take a long time or will need to be combined to collect the minimum amount of the money.
Remember that at the start of sales you should never buy Gram tokens from third-party people.
Already scammers announced the start of sales. For example, a fake Gram is actively sold on YoBitNet.
According to the WP, we can assume that the distribution of tokens will occur only at the end of 2018.

This is a Scam! to get on the pre-sell is simply unrealistic. Remains to rely on ICO. But keep in mind that the token can only be bought for dollars.

I think the Telegram ICO will be hugely anticipated there have already been 1 or even 2 fake sales so far GRAM being the most plausible. I would suggest waiting until you see any confirmed information through the official Telegram channels and not here nor anywhere else.
