We are pleased to announce the updated look for the Extremecoin website which is now live, with more additions to come.
This is in the build up to the new mandatory client update that EVERYONE will have to upgrade too.
Thank you to everyone that is and has supported this coin, this could not be done without you and you have my utmost appreciation and respect.

Everyone please download the Urgent Extremecoin client and solo mine for the time being, this is a planned hard fork, to fix the difficulty issues.
Just solo for now until the pools upgrade to the new client.
Thanks

Thanks for the update! Running the new version and all seems OK but have noticed the new client icon while showing on the QT executable is not appearing in the system tray, task bar or client they still appear to be the old ones, I've cleared icon caches etc to be sure. The version number in the about section is also still 1.1 https://www.dropbox.com/s/mzr4s4t940twchu/exc1.2.pngFurther update the client wont connect to the network. stuck trying to catch up 16 blocks.

Yeah this is a slight rush update just to get the difficulty down and the chain moving again, then I will add the Version Change log to V 1.2.
The Icon should be the new one though?
Hard fork are the hardest things too pull off and the way it going to work is if someone mines a block using the new 1.2 client.
At the moment people are probably still using the old client.

Hey, still no luck with your up to date blockchain, still saying out of sync despite showing 4 active network connections. Never solo mined before so not sure what needs to be done sorry. The new website looks pretty slick though!!!

The new website looks pretty slick though!!! That is normal. It will say out of sync now until one of us finds a block using the new version, as soon as that happens, all Version 1.2's will sync up and the blockchain will fork for the new client. Once that happens, I will tidy up the new client with the new logo and the correct version numbering.

block ahoy! Looks like coinex.pw is on the new chain but netcoin.pl is not. I am unable to mine on coinex due to port 80 restrictions on my connection, also noted that coinex has no auto pay out feature. Considering all that has happened before with this coin it makes me pretty nervous to mine there anyway. If CoinEX wants to switch ports and offer auto pay out i'll be happy to mine there. Otherwise I will wait for netcoin.pl to update.

The difficulty and hashing power in my client is different than that of Coinex's, either they kept with the same client and it just got to block 72 and adjusted but however it happened, coinchoose is a few block ahead of me and has a different difficulty. These hark forks are horrible and I hope I never have to do another one.

I've got the new client and the difficulty in mine matches up with CoinEX.

I've got the new client and the difficulty in mine matches up with CoinEX.
That's good, shows that this hard fork could be going to plan. I have just changed the download links for a slightly changed client but only with the new Icon and version number changed, nothing major. What do you see in your client debug getmininginfo? blocks" : 7868, "currentblocksize" : 1000, "currentblocktx" : 0, "difficulty" : 0.85823730, "errors" : "", "generate" : false, "genproclimit" : -1, "hashespersec" : 0, "networkhashps" : 467080, "pooledtx" : 0, "testnet" : false Looks like people are moving across and this leads me to the next big point, it is looking like we are going to hit the reward 1 drop a lot sooner. I changed the code so that the difficulty would be changed every two blocks and that it would adjust based on an average of the last four. Basically now, this is a two minute coin, instead of a 5 minute one.

Are they wasting their time?

Are they wasting their time? Yes, even if they find a block it will be orphaned. The chain we are working off is the main one. I mean which one would you mine, difficulty 22 or the one we have right now lol.

Some miners are putting a combined 9+ Mh/s on the netcoin pool and dont seem to understand that their work is futile, is there any way to contact the pool owner? I have tired everything i can to mine on coinex and no luck with port 80, gutted to be missing out on this Update: Right so cant mine with stratum on coinex? I can connect with LP just fine... anyone got any ideas?

The other pool might be trying to fork the chain back to the original diff 22 one which could be classed as an attack unless the pool owner upgrades his client.

Reloading blockchain from scratch using V1.2 0 blocks downloaded. 2 hrs... /check back later, thing refuses to update. Update: starting with a fresh v1.2 results in a stuck wallet. no blocks would download. Only way for me to have access to my coins was to copy over the blockchain posted by CaptChad.
