^ Yeah I don't think Bitmain made the decision to come up with the A3 miner just to bully the SIA developer team.
Nor do I. I see it as more of a "forced partnership". Sia development seems to have two options. Play nice and jump on the "Bitrain", or risk getting chewed up.

Bitmain probably wants nothing to do with sia coin.  They are coming out with asics for every algo they can to rake the dough as most companies do.  They saw an opportunity and took it.  Interested to see how this plays out though between sia and bitmain

Hey all,
I managed to get 6 from all of my accounts ! Will post how it goes !
Bitmain tried to prevent hoarding but I guess where there's a will there's a way.  I don't know how I'd manage to deal with one miner let alone 6.  You must have resources.  Best of luck.

Interestingly the Antminer A3 for the Chinese market seem to only work with Antpool.

Shipping within China starts next Tuesday and Chinese users have a big advantage as the rest of the world will need another one week before shipment starts.

We ordered all our items to be shipped to HK and Macau and ordered 49 units so far with some are up for resale via our website.

Sales within China has been sky rocketing with companies in Shenzhen buying a large quantity of A3 stocks.

I only can confirm the units we ordered and they said Tuesday. 14 units we resell at around 4300 USD and the other units we keep for our mining ops in Thailand.

How were you able to get around Bitmain's 1/customer limit? Did you simply purchase using multiple accounts or did you purchase from the Chinese site?

Can someone tell me if we can run these in a aprtment in the US? I believe we have 125 V 15 A breakers. But the APW++ PSU on bitmain site says that 110 V will only provide 1200 W ourput. Are we SOL? Will the bathroom or kitchen special outlets do any help?

You'll be able to power a single A3 on one of those circuits, but I wouldn't use a single APW3++. I'd go for the EVGA SuperNova 1600 G2 instead. We have a ton of customers who attempted to run the S9 with an APW3++ over 120v circuits and would often experience hashing boards that would just disappear until the next reboot. Moving to 220v circuits almost always fixes the issue permanently. The point is that the APW3++ will still attempt to output the full amount needed by the miner, but the power will likely be less consistent and you'll also be increasing your fire hazard risk. If you insist on using the APW3++, then get 2 of them and run some hashing boards on one and the rest on the other.

Thank you for the quick response. I ordered the APW3++ already along with the A3 Sad. I am also looking to use a colocation in a couple of weeks so I believe they will be able to accomodate the APW3++? Until then (1 to 2 weeks), I will have to run in my aprtment. Is it risky to run for even a short period of time? Am I risking low hashing and restart once in a while? Or am I risking to kill the miner or burn the house?

Also, can you post a link to a power cord to buy for the APW3++? I have spare ones that came with EVGA 750 BQ psus. One says 105 C 3 x 18 AWG (0.824 mm2) 300V. Other one says 60 C 3/c 18 AWG (0.824 mm2) 300 V. Are they good or bad to use with this?

Come on, we know who you are  Wink   I'm sure you found a way around it and will start selling them at mad markups like you did with the D3.
What did you charge ppl for D3 again ? 10 K ?  Grin
I wonder how many you sold before it all went to hell

As professional miners it does concern us. His type are taking large swaths of availability off the supply chain so we can't do our jobs. He has no license as a distributor. He knowingly charges people 3,4,5 and 6 times what they are worth to stuff his own pockets. Knowing full well those people are going to lose a LOT of money. He is a criminal and should be in jail. You seem like an aspiring criminal too. Congratulations. You're another dreg in a world full of dregs.

Obelisk threaten soft fork
The announcement of the Antminer A3 launch came out of the blue and has already caused a stir in the mining community due to its focus on the Blake(2b) hashing algorithm.

As it stands, Blockchain cloud storage service Sia uses Siacoin as it’s cryptocurrency, which is mined using the Blake(2b) algorithm.

Nebulous Labs, the studio behind Sia, launched its own ASIC cryptocurrency miners Obelisk which has been in presale since 2017. Two miners are available, the Decred cryptocurrency miner DC1 and the Siacoin miner SC1. The first batch has already sold out and is expected to ship in June this year.

Bitmain’s surprise announcement effectively muscles in on the market before Obelisk has shipped its new SC1 miners. The Chinese mining company has promised delivery within 10 days after full payment has been made.

This has not gone unnoticed, and Obelisk founder David Vorick posted a stern warning to Bitmain on the Obelisk Reddit forum, hinting at a soft fork that would disable the Bitmain A3 units from being able to mine the coin.

Talk about irresponsible reporting. Since when is pointing ASIC support at a new protocol anything but positive for that initiative?? Near as I can tell, this is great for the team on so many levels. Support, Security and not the least being, unbelievable elevation of recognition in the crypto world by virtue of this move! Now EVERYONE knows who they are!

"It now sees as though Bitmain are looking to squeeze the life out of another virtual currency - Siacoin."
