due to demand and supply. according to my current assessment, the current supply of bitcoin is overwhelming, and the enthusiasts or buyers of bitcoin are very few, which makes the price of bitcoin falling. and vice versa.

any body know the reason for current drop?
I think it is because of chinas plan on banning all domestic and foreign centralized cryptocurrency exchanges and they want to shutdown bitcoin mining that creates fear to some investors from their country but nothing to worry about because cryptocurrency market will recover, but no one knows when. south korea also plans to ban domestic exchanges so this may be also the reason why all coins are dropping right now.
Yep, I think that most of us all pay attention in this news, China is doing the policy to ban bitcoin but I don’t know for sure whether this news is accurate. These day, more and more people is using crypto currencies, especially bitcoin. It’s really not easy for us to limit the people to use it,Through the price of bitcoin went down which makes both coins fall. I think that crypto nowadays plays an important roles in our economy, therefore the price of all coins will recover soon.

I don't know the real reason why all coins are dropping. All i know is it is normal in the market. And the price of any coin are not stable. And it keeps on moving.

This is not a new thing happening it is a routine fall, you can understand that when btc is  down it effects the whole market, people got panic and start selling, reason slowly downfall grab the entire market and other coins start falling, as per routine it will rise again as if you check the previous years market results.

I think this is due to the crypto situation in China. Of course, if the value of Bitcoin will fell, then it would cut other coins. quite logical

Just the same ol' FUD.

Otherwise you can call it Bitcoin's correction which was long overdue (or due to CME futures, take your pick  Wink )

Moreover, as i think has been mentioned several times in this thread, China fud, South Korea fud, newcomers are so vulnerable to any negative news that relates to banning of icos, tradining, bitcoin, etc. In short, newcomers sell, alt coins drop.

Don't you find it odd that the downward trend ended the exact time the futures trade settled. If you don't believe me look at the charts. You can bet futures are going long on BTC for February and BTC will rally right up to the closing bell.

There has been dropping in bitcoin value in last 6 days. Since the Bitcoin is the foundation of this coin business the news about Bitcoin increasing or decreasing always affect the other crypto coins as well.

Some county ban the coin. So that the reason for all coin prices down on time. So you will check the market places then you will get more information for the prices list. So you will check the prices day by day.

Examples:
If most of the peoples release the bitcoin. It will down the prices. It incres the prices. But country ban the any one coin it will affect the all coin prices in Market place.

yes you are right country of influence in turning bitcoin like its already started to ban circulation bitcoin i heard korea Indonesia and some countries in ASIA prohibit circulation of bitcoin, it seems that make bitcoin price, I hope it did not last long because it will make the bitcoin players lose money if it should sell cheap.

The exchange rate of major currencies is significantly affected by the depreciation of major currencies, including bitcoin. Bitcoin becomes attractive for investment. so market participants do not just sell coins, but buy bitcoin.

Everything is very simple. Now the market is correcting. There was a long growth. Now the prices are corrected. After correction, there will be growth again.

I can’t believe the affect the January crash has had on people. My portfolio is down 5% (!) and people are talking about a ‘bear trap’. Meanwhile, my portfolio was up 15% yesterday. We need some stability, we can’t move up everyday.

It is usual correction after big altcoins growth. I don't know markets with constant growth without any corrections

I do not know exactly, probably because China and Korea really want to ban crypto-currencies, or maybe it's a hoax that someone could buy a currency at a low price, because many believe that bitcoin will grow even more than it was.

I think bigest reason was locked situation of bitcoin and ethereum. Basically fees raised too high, and transactions were too slow, people lost bit trust on coins and it affected price overall.

Too much bad news from China. People sell coins, but I think everything will be fine. Last year in January was exactly the same.

Almost all coins are related or connected in Bitcoin and Ethereum because when these two giant coin pumps then almost all Altcoins are also pumping and when they drop then the same way around.
It's due to the exchange value that Altcoin exchange figure is through Bitcoin or Ethereum and not through USD or any fiat currency.

If only coins trading price is USD based then there will be no major price adjustments will happen into all coins at the same time. I'm confused why exchange should not be doing that way since cryptocurrency value is based on local fiat and not based by Bitcoin or Ethereum alone.
