Bitcoin is the main crypto. If it drops then all the altcoins drop.

What surprises me is the fact that people are actually surprised that crypto doesn't keep rising every day forever. Have these folks paid attention to what happened from mid november til early january?

Most coins are falling because bitcoin is falling, now is a very good opportunity to enter the market, but not the whole amount, because the market may fall even lower.

I don't see a reason to panic actually. This correction or crash whatever you call it happend because of some attempts of restrictions and taxes but it will surely recover soon. Instead of panicking it is better to make some investments while coins are that cheap.

any body know the reason for current drop?

All altcoins follow Bitcoin, there's no rule for crypto market. but if bitcoin up/down hardly, altcoins follow it.

A lot of people blame it on the SK/China news. And the millions of FUD articles that spawned as a result. Additionally, markets usually crash around in January.

I don't think it's fair to say this was completely random and out of the blue.

I think the prices for coins are falling because they depend on bitcoin and ephyra, and because more new units and more new coins appear. But in General, once the cryptocurrency will own 5% of the gold Fund, it will be more stable, accordingly coins will not be so jumping in price. But actually of course many more factors which need to understand

That is true for the past month.
But it doesn't always act this way.
I remember when bitcoin pumps hard in 2017, almost all altcoins were suffering loss.

This year Altcoins moved in tandem with Bitcoin, only with stronger moves. If Bitcoin drops 5%, altcoins drop 10%+. If Bitcoin goes up 5%, altcoins go up 10%+. At least this is how it went this year so far...

I think this is the effect of some Asian countries that will plan to ban bitcoin trade, but we do not need to worry about this, because now is the digital era, all will grow according to the times...

All coins are dropping because of the effect of Bitcoin. I think it is because of the chain reactions from bitcoin going down to all altcoins. It has a domino effect. When bitcoin price decreases, most altcoins follows. The main bases of the price and demands of altcoins is from bitcoin.

It seems that many countries government want to manage cryptocurrency instead of neglect, such as China and South Korea.
So it increase more uncertainty for cryptocurrency in future. But in other side, it maybe promote the orderly development of cryptocurrency.
Obviously, it will hasten scam cryptocurrency's death.

Because chinese goverment already banned exchange, and price of bitcoin also dropping. so every altcoins will be affected by the sudden drop of bitcoin.
and many goverments trying to find ways to regulate or ban the cryptomarket.
but im sure everything will go through and stabilize again  Smiley

There was also alot of news going around about countries putting a ban on crypto like China and South Korea that caused a pretty big dip, and recently i believe a foreign exchanged was hacked and there was a very significant amount of money stolen! But i think along this road there will always be bumps, if there's not bumps along the way then crypto would just be too good to be true!

now all altcoins price is dropping frequently because china and corea have been announced to ban bitcoin in their country. so due to this effect all altcoins was sold by less price so all altcons price is decreasing.

Most likely, because altcoins are depending on the value of bitcoin though it is part of cryptocurrency but bitcoin is a dominant cryptocurrency with high value. So, while the bitcoin is going down its value, definitely the other coins will drop down its value and also it will not take a long time when the value of a coin is low, it will risen up later on.

according to me the main reason is that china has banned exchanges.
people have panicked a lot and have made drastic and illogical decisions which has lead to this.
also it is due the correction is bitcoin price that was due in the month of jan.
