Because market is not stable at the time. Big coin like BTC and ETH are making huge fluctuations. So that is the main reason, if the btc and ETH prices increases other alt coins prices increaees and vice versa.

I think one of the reasons why the cryptocurrency market tumbled, is the uncertainty in the regulatory environment in South Korea and China. What happened was we had some really bad news out of nowhere with Korea banning cryptocurrency and China considering heavy regulations.
