Does anyone have a reference to a good article or chart comparing both, ASIC vs GPU mining?

I am not afraid!
I will continue to look for other coins that can be mine.
if GPU miners die, we will try computer game business with our GPU.
for the country of China, indeed from antiquity they always wanted to conquer the world, so it is their original innate nature like that. the ruling the more powerful, the poor will be the poorer

Hey OP I hope you're cute 'cause you need to get bent; Monero forking off asics and botnets in about a week.  Kiss

I haven't mined Monero...is it worth it with 1070s? Will it be better after fork or?

I can only speculate but $3 per card/day is a conservative estimate.

I do not think that is conservative at all! I would be stoked with $3 a day on my 1070's right now. How are you reaching that number?

Looks like monero is going up and eth is going down x btc hehe, i guess that reflects what buyers want --> gpu mining to stay and asics to die --> decentralization

Now eth devs need to answer the community with actions cause eth asics have been running since december 2017.

It may be difficult to mine the old Crypto/coins because "the level of difficulty is getting higher", but too many new coins come in and can mine using the GPU. And will get profit!

It's amazing, i posted few things about it and eth started crashing hard everywhere, come on trolls i'm not selling any of my eth hehe, i just expressed how i feel about the situation. eth devs must answer the community why they are letting asics mining eth, they should have done something already to counter it and so far nothing was done, this is sad. I have many thousands of eth and not selling because i do believe on the coin but please do not let us down. Do something about the asic disease bitmain is upon us. You had 3 months to say something and yet you troll devs kept quiet and did nothing about it.

Raven coins are doing better then zec for the moment.

I've just visited the ANN thread of Raven coin as I saw a lot talks about Raven recently. It seems like the idea is really interesting with rotation algorithms. But I checked their whitepaper, there's not much details. I ever heard one another coin has this idea, but it failed on development. It's hard to say that Raven is doing better than ZEC, but If ZEC creates a fork, so it's yes. The difficulty level of ZEC already double as compared with its in last November. Its trend almost looks like what ETH performs.

He means that Raven is doing better than ZEC profitability-wise. You get more $$$/btc for your hashrate than mining ZEC. (for now) It doesn't mean Raven is a better coin. (maybe it is but its not what he is saying.)

Raven only has a few months of history and the main idea of it to stay as decentralized as possible by keeping ASICs out. Equihash coins also do share the same point of view but after Ethash got cracked many people started to think "What if Equihash also was infested by Bitmain's filth?" so people started look for a coin which is completely ASIC resistant...

Well there is no way to know how many eth coins the asic will mine, so buying such coin right now is shooting yourself, reason eth is crashing. Why pay for eth $400 right now while you can buy asic generated eth coins for $50? That is what investors think ehhe

It will be fun cause, also the more investors hold their money the more they might be losing a great opportunity cause I'm shooting a maximum of $8k for eth by the end of this year.

It sure does not look good at the moment. I expect a high price for ethash asics. Seems like the repeat of 2014. when GPU mining also died. Maybe there will be another good coin to mine, we will see

I pay US$0.22Kwh so it's definitely not profitable for me at current market conditions, conditions which goes to show how weak "HODL" mentality market participants are.

Well asic is really a big problem, the real reason all crashed is because of asics. ETH already crashed 300%, dont think it will crash further, now only pumps and pumps till eth hit $3k but first for that to happen there will be a very good news and then boom and the good news will be soon.

People are doing a mistake for selling at this price.

Indeed but it's not just the Asics, crypto as whole being heavily under fire by the media and regulators and if you combine that with the instability of equity markets at the moment just magnifies the issue. Some might see crypto as a "currency" but as of right now it is just a trade able asset and as risk appetite is diminishing ATM cryptos are just falling along the trend with X10 volatility.

It is definitely a mistake to sell if you're at a loss and you believe in the market for the long term and this momentum will definitely separate the ones in pursuit for yield vs the ones who believe in Crypto. And you will also see how powerful are each group which by the significant loss in market cap well know how strong that crowd is.

People do these mistakes, or they want to buy very low which the price never gets to and when they buy it then they want to sell very high, two common mistakes. Well people will have to buy at some point cause is already very low.
