What is the time frame for the TGE?

BoatPilot Token Generation Event (TGE) is held in two stages: closed stage, or private placement, and open stage, or public placement. The TGE closed stage begins at 13:00:00 UTC on January 9, 2018 and will last until 23:59:59 UTC on February 28, 2018. The TGE open stage begins at 13:00:00 UTC on March 1, 2018 and will last until 23:59:59 UTC on April 15, 2018.

When and what exchanges BoatPilot tokens will be listed?

Our ticker: NAVI. What exchanges exactly we can tell you after our TGE. We are already communicating with some major crypto exchanges regarding ours tokens trade. Token will be issued on Ethereum blockchain (ERC20), and it will be available for transfer and trade almost right after the token-sale.

When does the open stage start? How can I participate?

The open stage will begin on March 1, 2018 and last until April 15, 2018. During the open stage the minimum deposit is 100 NAVI ($7). You can read all the details about the closed and open stages of the TGE in our Token Policy.

When does the private placement start? What're the terms of participation?

It has been already started on 9th of January and will be last till February 28, 2018. The minimum amount of NAVI tokens purchased during the closed stage is $25,000 (equivalent in ETH, BTC, BCH, LTC).

Yes, BoatPilot is more like chartplotter, not navigator. Initially, the chartplotter is a paper map with depth. The usual navigators do not show the depth.

In this case our team will do everything possible to develop as many functionalities stated under the hard cap goal. We will issue a press release with a detailed action plan as soon as we have the final number on funds raised.

There was an overload of the Ethereum network, and for a long time we could not write a smart contract. Therefore, there was a delay. We decided that the quality is more important than the date.

I still not get why do you burn tokens?

By burning tokens we aim to stimulate NAVI value growth with a two-prong approach. First, every time tokens are used to rent or book a vessel, those tokens will be immediately burned and taken off the market. This model assumes a gradual decrease of available tokens, and an organic increase of demand and price. Second, at least 25% of all advertising profits will be used to buyout tokens available on cryptocurrency exchanges. We then will burn at least 50% of the tokens, removing them from the market, and further stimulating NAVI value growth.

which AR-goggles models will support your program?

We implemented a separate app, modest in its resource demands, specifically for Epson AR glasses. The app works in parallel with the main BoatPilot application, receiving data on the planned route, waypoints, and other key information. The Epson headset application is responsible for visualizing and superimposing all the necessary navigational information on the surface. As such, after setting the necessary objectives on the navigator, skippers can concentrate completely on yacht control, without being distracted by the navigator screen and dash. We plan to significantly expand the list of supported AR headset manufacturers in 2018.

Do you optimize your service for mobile devices?

Most data suppliers (for example, OSM) are bloated and lack optimal storage structures. Our algorithm will find and eliminate such redundancy, which in turn will cut the size of the database to a fifth. A key feature of our algorithm is its parallelization. It allows you to use MapReduce algorithms on a computing cluster. The software algorithm is
implemented via Python using ZeroMQ to distribute tasks throughout computing nodes. The common and open ESRI Shapefile is used as an output format, allowing
the results to be used not only on mobile devices, but in the vast majority of GIS packages.

Thanks for words of support! As a project from the real (active) business sector and not from the blockchain sector, we will use TGE to crowdfund further development of the project, creating the NAVI token to be used within the BoatPilot ecosystem by all users, businesses and advertisers that are associated with it. We also use blockchain to store and secure our geo-data. Additionally, within the Pocket Skipper app users will be able to book yachts and marinas using their NAVI tokens, as well as the usual payment methods (credit cards, PayPal, etc.). This means tokens purchased during the TGE, or later at an exchange, can be used for any future yachting trips. BoatPilot's loyalty program will be made available to users who maintain NAVI tokens in their e-wallets.  Users will be rewarded with bonuses and gifts for retaining NAVI tokens in their wallets for a specified period of time. You can find more details on the use of the NAVI token within our ecosystem, as well as how we plan to generate token growth in our  White Paper (see page 16-19).

During the private placement we do not disclose information about the collected funds. We will definitely disclose this information closer to the start of the crowdsale (March 1) — to define the maximum amount of the tokens for the crowdsale and, of course, to inform all participants. In addition, we'll immediately notify, if the Soft Cap will be reached during the private placement. We'll write about this on the site and publish a press-release.
