I think it's hard enough to hold altcoin for a long enough time. you should try to do some research for some of the outstanding altcoins. there are many options you can do. each altcoin has a potential, but does not know what it is beneficial or harmful.

When i was a newbie,i hold a lot of ETH, because i personally think that ETH's price is very good and quite cheap, and the growth of the price is very stable.

You should check the Top 20 list in coinmarketcap those coins are solid and will give you good profit if you will hold it long term. But do not buy just 1 coin diversify your funds and do your research first for every coin.

I also like these coins, but they are not as famous as bitcoin and ethereum, but they can grow more in price. Everyone chooses for himself stability and low profit or risk and the opportunity to make good money.

There are actually lots of digital currencies out there listed in the market and one of the these are in my portfolio already and they are Snovio, WePower, Gladius, and Debitum Network. All of them are under the radar but may be a good jewel since they already have working products.
