I just created this thread to gather opinions ..
Ethereum is next to BTC?

Thats unpredictable at the moment for many reasons like, BTC can take over the dominance again if air gets cleared up for the different bans in next moth or so. BTC has always gets heroic entry in the market and you never know when it will start jumping back.

There is however buzz going on that ETH could be the one taking the market in its hand this year. ETH has already grown a lot after the re-entry of the Vitalik and he might just be making the different roadmaps this year. If thats the case then we can see spikes for it. We need to stay tuned for further updates I guess. :-) But I would really like our beloved bitcoin to bounce back to 20K.

Ethereum is next to BTC?

Etheteum is next to bitcoin already, not because of it price but the volume of trade it has transacted. Though the price of ethereum is far from what bitcoin has acheived but its reputation as the second most consistent and most reliable in trades makes it even more interesting to invest with.

The second largest market cap in cryptocurrency and the most usable and applicable cryptocurrency in ICO, why not ethereum will lead? Since it has ERC20 token and it support a lot of new existing coins. Ethereum has its own identity, the luck of bitcoin is just it is more popular than ethereum. I believe in bitcoin but in 2018, ethereum will reign the cryptocurrency.

while ETH and BTC are powered by the blockchain and cryptography.There are major differences between them technically. For example, BTC uses a stack based language while Ethereum uses turing complete.Other major differences include transaction time (ETH is much faster than Bitcoin) and their basic builds (BTC uses SHA-256 while ETH uses ethash)

In addition,generally, BTC and ETH differ in their respective purpose. BTC seek to be an alternative to money and become a faciliator of payment transactions while ETH is developed to be a platform for faciliting applications and p2p contracts.Although it can be said that both BTC and ETH are digitial currencies, the main purpose of ETH is to not be a payment alternative but to be a platform for developers to run DApps.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are designed for different areas of activity, and they are the best, at the moment, in its direction. And my opinion is that they will live all the time while there is a crypto currency and no one will put them forward, because Bitcoin is the beginning of the history of digital money in cryptography, it is the foundation for absolutely all crypto-currencies that already exist and that will be, but Ethereum gave a new development in the digital world of money!

Ethereum is one of the most popular cryptoes among investors because there are some things that make Ethereum quite familiar. and one of the factors that caused Ethereum to become one of the most popular cryptoes is of course today very much the developer of a project that uses the ethereum platform to promote some of the tokens they are currently marketing. but if to rival the bitcoin price I think it is very far away. currently almost half the percent of crypto users who choose bitcoin as an asset to invest in the crypto world. other than that of course bitcoin is an icon as the most virtual currency that ever adadi between other types of crypto.

Yeah i think not the comparator but yeah it is a very strong crypto with a lot of features better than bitcoin as compare to transection fee and timing as well but i think for competing bitcoin is definitely not possible. because bitcoin already has a very strong community and will continue to grow. ETH Rise this year. and no coins that can compete with btc events.

I see a lot of potential with the ETH from 1:22 btc/eth ratio last year, now it becomes 1:10 btc/eth ratio, now we see how fast the ethereum grow. Smart contracts ,ERC20 compatible tokens ,EEA group and ICOs are more in favor of ETH adaption, although some network congestion problem arises but it will be fixed overtime and soon it will surpass BTC IMHO.

Right now Eth has been growing potentially higher than that of bitcoin. This doesn't mean that bitcoin will be overcome by ethereum. In terms of market capital Eth might grow higher than that of bitcoin, but in terms of pricing it won't reach bitcoin. More projects getting existence on ethereum platform adds more potential to Eth.

There is a chance for ethereum to be the next bitcoin so far since it is the top 2 and it has a lot of volume and stable at the ranking and also got a huge community and it is getting bigger because of the smart contracts that are getting created under its network. In the overall basis, ethereum is such a great coin and getting some of it for long term investment is such a great decision for me.

Competing bitcoin is a hard task, it will takes time to compete or to take higher in bitcoin. Ethereum has a potential but it takes time to overcome bitcoin, but the marketing of ethereum is getting higher then the value of the ethereum will increase. But nobody can say what will happen to the future. Everyday each coin grows but we cant say who will have a greater value in the future but for now it is hard to overcome bitcoin because it is the head of the coins, and bitcoin is the most popular than the other coins. Ethereum has a chance but let us see in the future what will happen.

For me perhaps eth is the next to bitcoin even though the price is slowly increasing .because it has a potential to grow more than our thoughts as i noticed the price on this moment.  maybe not now but for sure soon it will climb to the top and surpass the current valued of bitcoin.

I think the decisive is the population of crypto coin users. Bitcoin is at the forefront and strongest because of their belief in bitcoin, but I do not think bitcoin will be the strongest and someday, bitcoin will be replaced by another coin (ethereum).

Yes Ethereum nowadays is the first altcoin, and it is indeed next to Bitcoin. Its value and price go up fastly since few months, and its demand is also very high, because the coin itself is very valuable, and because it is needed for creating tokens and investing in the ICO projects which use their platform (smart contract).

In all transactions bitcoin is the partner of ethereum and ethereum is the partner of bitcoin as well. Sometimes without ethereum you cant do any transaction, there are few of them not all. In my own opinion as I see them grow together yes Ethereum is next to bitcoin. we see the good improvement of bitcoin now from $400 last December it is now $1000 and we are all amaze by it. Better investment is Bitcoin and Ethereum today, yes eth is next to btc.

It is quite becoming a gradual process and this relevance is as a result of ethereum now being used more to access the altcoins. Good enough, ethereum transaction fee is minimal with respect to that of bitcoin. I see this year more in favour for ethereum and bitcoin price stability.

You misunderstand the mechanism of investment. What kind of price increase this year do you expect from btc and eth? I think that the maximum possible growth of bitcoin this year will be 200-300% and the Ethereum 200-500%. There are many coins which are more attractive for investment. Your Board can only be used for storage of available funds. But it can hardly be called investing.

BTC will slowly disappear to better crypto. too much fees, transactions are so slow.
ETH is the first crypto which you can add code on it. ultra valuable. for sure the best crypto to keep your wallet stable at this time.
there are many cryptos that are about to emerge, as ADA, XRB, ECA, ... so many I can't list them!
anyway, ETH is for sure next to BTC, and I think that ETH could be the first crypto that will remain in the future.
