It isn't really about economics rather it's about life skills. I remember my first investment was a car - an asset that is likely going to be depreciated, will cost insurence, petrol, maintainance, parking space etc. !! But it is impossible to tell that to a youth who wants to buy a car because it's shiney!

Bitcoin or any other crypto coin is a great investment, far better than a depreciating asset! But yes, don't expect the youth to understand that easily or the government to be of any help.

I guess awareness campaigns are the only way to make people understand their priorities and keep the 20 somethings from taking bad financial decisions!

There are various course where professional and experienced investors train the investors of the future that is today's children's if that's what you're talking about . But 95% of the world's investors do not take such courses due to beliefs like you don't need to take courses on how to buy and sell. I think that financial education which is crucial for people have to start since childhood from your family. Our families just gave us money whenever we need it but have never taught how to manage it.

I agree with you.  Financial literacy starts in our family.  Our parents should be the one to start educating us on how to use money wisely.  This is the problem of me and other people.  We just keep on spending our money on things we really do not need.

Yet, only a few schools will tell them what should they be expecting, the risks and the consequences of such a contract.

There are some professor and instructor that gives advice of what is happening in real life, what we have to expect in our future and what we have to do for us to be successful. Its on the perspective of every students on how they learn financially. We cannot blame the government because we, ourselves should have interest in how we can improve our life.

There is no perfect education to become successful in life,education is just a guide but the struggle in life shall be won if you have courage and how you use you knowledge experience in life. Education starts right from childhood as right/privileges given to us by our parents/guardians which will tailor us into living the world averagely goodly. Financial Education can never be taught from childhood because the bases of that education can never be comprehended or assimilated at that tender age. The problem is, the schools are not teaching the children in terms of how to be a good user of fiat and what are the things that they can do even they are young. There is a lot of things that is missing in the schools and it didn't justify the word school if they can't teach even the most important type of education that everyone should have.

I do not think that it would be necessary for that to be taught in school.  Parents should atleast teach their kids to become wise in money.  Then in school it could be discussed but not as a subject.  Financial literacy does not need a diploma I think.

Having lack of financial education is not good.  Even you are in primary school up to secondary and tertiary teacher teaches this in a basic type.We people need to be educated specially when it comes to money so that in time you will never fooled by someone and yo can earned many more.

It is really not just about teaching people what to buy; this is about teaching people how to utilize their money wisely. Honestly, what the OP have said is the truth and most people have ended up making shit loads of mistake because they do not have that financial education to help them in the real world which is also one of the reasons people blow chances away or they just mess up every little chance they get to accruing wealth.

It is always required to show things before making anyone interested in them. It is the same as math, if you don´t tell the kids that numbers exist, they can´t become interested on it.
