I hope everybody would be fair about this new feature implemented by admin theymos.
This thread is for the purpose of awareness that merit is given to a constructive and quality post. I have made a thread here in the market place section, hoping that there will not be such things like buying and selling merits. Let's work with our own asses.

Getting merit is very tough as of now as I see sMerit is in scarcity now. Sending merit to the other people who really deserves merit but you yourself doesn't receive anything feels like very unfair. Well, by this kind of stuff theymos created is indeed useful, we would see a more quality post nowadays unlike wayback before ranking up is easy even if you post something out of content or what we call shitpost. People who are really eager to get promoted will probably will work harder than they usually do.

I dont see the scarcity that you mentioned unless if theres no merit source then it would really be hard to level up but the merit system is already being organized and works do completely fine. Smerits are there but people doesnt really tend to give out into those good quality posters but rather do store it up on theirselves and now sharing out to public. Dont get upset if you sent out smerit and not receiving back. This would be the main challenge if you dont post good enough dont expect for recognition.

I'm learning to work my ass off like you said to earn merits but I'll be losing if I told you I'm not scared if the process would be abused. We are humans and sometimes slave to our emotions, even with quality posts you might still get overlooked. I have seen lot of people here with required number of activities but only merit stopping them from ranking up. I bid luck to be on my side though, I'm just starting out.

Merit is not what you buy or sell, it's a reward given by those in higher ranks, to those who shares unique ideas, information, or for a good quality post worth deserving merit.

Yes, the Merit is not for sale but it is a reward for everyone who are rewarded as a good members , active for participate in bitcoins forum, good performance and worthy in the sight of the modirator, they will be happy and share there merit to anyone if anyone are worthy to them. the merit is free for does have a points an reward.

You’re right it is not easy to make merit and it is not for granted as those who want to increase merit will have to work for it bit still they can get merit points it is all about making quality post, to be hones every one spend time here making knowledge and replying to the threats with correct information which will e helpful for the new users so this way merit will have to earn it is not for granted.\

Merit is not buy and sell. Merit is like in your post. So you will improve your post quality for the great merit. If not, get merit your account rank won't increase. So you will improve your post then you get a merit. People will be like your post, then people will be sending the merit your account, Then account rank also increase. People know the marination before using. If need information who will send your account, check your profile the check the merit link. Then you will get some information.

Merit system is a good concept to appreciate the good and quality post and should NOT be influence of those people who wants to buy merit just to increase their ranks. So everyone should be responsible to ensure persons doing illegal activities (selling and buying merit) will be penalized.

Yeah, and looks like you don't have any awarded merit or earn merit for a long period of time. Because in the first place, most of us don't care if you are a good poster. As long as they read your comment, they will ignore it as soon as possible. Add the factor about the limited supply of merit from those low rank like us. Those two things is the most common problem in merit system. What do you think?

Exactly, because merit system is required specially for ranking up, meaning it should be exerted with efforts to see the real meaning of your rank acquired. I don’t understand why others are trying to ask still if merits are for sale. But i don’t know also what is really the truth why others are insisting still, instead of obeying directly of what the new system is.

What kind of people need merit? Those, that want better signatures (and some other perks).
Who needs better signatures? People, who want to promote their own stuff.
Who wants to promote their own stuff? People who want to sell you some service...

As such, there are a ton of (pardon my french) shitposts in broken engrish all round the forum with no value, no relevance to the topics and basically just cluttering up the discussions.

Even if you (we) do take time and effort to come up with a quality post, give detailed info and a great answer to some questions here on BT forum, it may be a biiit hard for the "people in charge" to find us and "reward us with merit" in the midst of all that.

Or maybe I'm just to gloomy about this, not sure...

   It is hard  to earn merit but it is much better to put all your effort to have it rather than buying it just to rank up.  We all know merit is important in order to rank up but we should work hard for it. Do quality and meaningful post who knows someone notice it and give you a merit. Just do your part despite of this merit rules.

If you are trying to get it as hard as you can, then for sure it will be very difficult. But if you are here to learn I'm sure that merits will come your way as you matured and post high quality because you really did your best to share and be involved in the discussion. So I say that don't try to hard, because I have seen other posters just copying others including articles on websites and sooner or later you will be caught. Just take your time to learn everything, it will not be easy, but posting meaning will come naturally in the end.

Recently i received a personal message to a guy asking me to give him merit. I obviously didnt gave him one and instead ignoring him until now because i dont know what to do with him. Gladly he didnt come to bargain but i know it is still illegal. He wants to get a higher rank on his own way and that is what we prevent on this merit system.

yes, sometimes there may be some of the forum members who make an alternative to get the merit that is by buying from other members. this shows that the merit system has not worked well where there are still many members who do it and this is certainly not the right way to get merit. I think this is unfair to some people who make excellent contributions to some quality posts.
