try Heavy Rain. ok its a old one, but nice.

We're talking about Games here.
lol

just played its predecessor Fahrenheit and that was more like a series of "playable" cutscenes with one of the shittiest endings in game history.
(never understood why heavy rain wasn't also released for pc which represents a lot of mature audience)
gamedesign wise i loved the new approach though and it starts pushing industry towards more believable characterdesign and better storytelling overall.

i'm curious how that stuff will evolve with oculus rift.
fully interactive movies someday in the future...i can't wait  Smiley

One indie that I'll never forget is Bastion.
Brilliant game, love everything in it.

+1. It's one of the best games I've played. I love the narration :-)

@hlynur I do sell discounted Steam games once in a while (although not as often as I used to). Usually they are cheaper than the stores like steambits :-)

From what I've just googled the game was made by an indie developer but it was published by Warner Brothers, when an indie developer signs up with a publisher as far as I'm concerned that's when they lose their independence, it's a bit like a country signing up to be a vassal of another and claiming it's independent from the country it's a vassal of, in the end they're still being controlled by somebody and have various restrictions on what they can and can't do.

I don't think you guys seem to realise just how shitty it is signing over your intellectual property to a publisher or anyone for that matter, they'll try to take everything they can get.

They started everything alone. To distribute the game they gave to WB as you saw. It may not see to much right as you said, but it was their first great game, and they needed it to revenue the best possible.

When you have Bittorrent and cheap webhosts I don't understand why it would be so difficult to do the distribution yourself these days unless you needed physical CD's Sad.

Big companies have access to big channels of distribution that you cannot rival by setting up a website and linking a .torrent file. It is the truth.

0/10. Extremely boring, and not even remotely 'scary' unless you're a 12 year old girl who watches pewdiepie and writes about "sluendeuhman :333" on her facebook status.

Don't like Slender.
Too much jumpscare, and all what happens to you is getting lost.

I like pretty much Amnesia, and can't wait to play the new one.
Tee new Steam released game, Outlast is awesome aswell, very good gameplay.

Btw, are you making a game with which language? Are you using OpenGL or some sort of library?

An egg displayed over TV static doesn't even count as a 'jumpscare'.
Outlast does look pretty cool, I should play it sometime. DarkHyudra, have i talked to you on steam before? Smiley

I'm learning C++ and SFML, I plan on learning OpenGL when I get the hang of doing 2D programming, also guys, I'm fucked, I just found out they released Theme Park World years ago for the PS2 so now I'm getting an emulator to play it Cheesy holy shit I missed that game, you can't play the PC version anymore because it only really works on Windows 98.

It only works in some cases and even if it does work I found it to be way to glitchy and horrid, trust me Cheesy I've tried getting the damn game working but now I've found the PS2 ROM I won't need to worry about it anymore ^_^.
