ZelCore is adding support for multiple addresses for a single Zel ID login. Now you can sort your coins however you wish, and have separate mining addresses from your spendable balance, etc. Wallets can be renamed to anything you want.

https://twitter.com/Zelcash/status/1081983499576340480

If you hold ZelCash, this Medium article is a very important read. Unfortunately we will be ending support for the Copay wallet as it does not allow the integration of Sapling protocol, details about Copay are in the article. To cover needs for multiple addresses, we are adding this new feature to ZelCore in the next release. Also, full node users must update their wallet binaries for the upcoming Acadia upgrade.

Please read this article in full to prepare for the Acadia network upgrade.

The first ZelNode in closed testnet has been stood up today, with successful messaging between the ZelNode and the ZelCash network. ZelNodes are scheduled for release on January 31st, the 1-year anniversary of ZelCash launch.

is ZelNode kind of a masternode for which one would need collateral to run it and how much %age block reward would go to ZelNode?

Here is a short Medium post that explains everything ZelNodes. There is collateral and the block percentages are explained in the article with collateral levels.

You can log into your ZelCore account on any device you wish. On a new device, register a local account using the EXACT same username and password for your account, then login and you have access to the same wallet.

Thanks...so that means username/pword are stored centrally somewhere right?  Not sure I like that.

Nothing is stored or transmitted (we are also very against centrally storing any user info so we do not do this practice at all). The username and password are hashed together to create a master private key to access the wallet, and all the hashing functions are performed locally on your device. This is also why there is no recovery option if you lose your login credentials so store them securely, best is pen/paper and in a very secure place.

Here is an article explaining the account system, decentralized 2FA system, and the Easy Login via biometrics or passphrase

Thanks for clarifying.  Since login info is used as the unique seed, if a user chooses a poor user name and password (ie. admin/abcde) or if by chance another user has the same username/password combo funds could be compromised.

Correct. Its similar to logging into mobile banking website. Always use a unique and strong set of login credentials

Good to know that dev is still working on this project. The Zelcash walllet on iPhone will still be useable when the ZelNodes is released. Am I right?

If you are using the copay wallet, which is this one for iOS https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/zelcash-wallet/id1425452511?mt=8
then no, it will not work. The software does not allow for Sapling integration and we unfortunately will have to end support for the copay wallet.

You can read about this and what your options are here:
https://medium.com/@ZelOfficial/copay-wallet-support-for-zelcash-to-be-discontinued-replaced-with-zelcore-multi-address-feature-d4febd4739f3

You can either send all your coin to your new wallet, or use the web wallet at https://my.zel.cash to import your copay exported wallet, then send the coin to your new wallet from the web wallet.

Acadia Network Upgrade was successfully implemented. ZelCash now has Overwinter and Sapling implemented.

The Copay wallet (ZelCash Wallet on desktop, iOS, and Android) no longer works because of Sapling. You need to switch to a supported wallet.

Instructions with pictures on recovering your wallet can be found here:
