Popularity will begin to explode with lightning in the next year.
Bitcoin's lightning network is emerging where fees will be tiny and cross-chain atomic swaps for decentralized exchange.

Bitcoin's blockchain is the only unique one to provide the most security in a decentralized, global, incentivized fashion.

Bitcoin's price will be at the very least more than 4 times (400%) of todays price in 5 years.

Governments and laws are controlled by the central banks. Bitcoin is an anti-establishment revolution that has already solidified itself worldwide.

Bitcoin cannot be controlled. It cannot be banned. It cannot be made illegal. And conversely it cannot be legalized. It just simply is. And people can always use it.

Those trying to undermine and manipulate bitcoin stem from the central bank system around the world;
-the central banks dictate policy to all the operating big banks around the world and have essentially tried their best to ban bitcoin related transactions for more than four years straight, ever since 2013, and have failed at stopping bitcoin's growth, adoption, and popularity
-the central banks fund efforts to undermine bitcoin, providing plenty of capital and liquidity to private companies and venture backed groups such as Digital Currency Group (they own Coinbase, GDAX, Kraken, Bitpay, and media outlet Coindesk) and also Roger Ver/Bitmain to undermine and break the bitcoin protocol and/or manipulate trade

Above are just small examples.

First, educate yourself and then others. Please checkout the link to the bitcointalk post in my signature titled: How to teach Bitcoin to a 7 year old.

Bitcoin is a secure, decentralized, trustless and open system which cannot be banned nor controlled.

Bitcoin is ultimate store of value and its popularity has strengthened over time and maximizes value compared to any other altcoin...why?:
If it can be shutdown, and have assets frozen by a bank or government, there would be no value
If it wasn't secure, there would be no value.
If it wasn't immutable, there would be no value.
If it wasn't globally distributed, there would be no value.
If it wasn't so strong, open-source decentralized and unstoppable, there would be no value.
If it wasn't so scarce, there would be no value.
If it was easy to spam transactions, there would be no value
If it required a central 3rd party to function, there would be no value
If it was stopped after all major banks on Earth banned in 2013 to today, there would be no value. (say "bitcoin" when transacting and watch the block of the transaction. simple fix=never mention "bitcoin").
If it didn't have the history of 8+ years (and still no hacker can exploit bitcoin blockchain), there would be no value
Bitcoin is on the verge of lightning network release rendering altcoins as only backup plan options if not dead.
If it was exactly like fiat and only did transactions, there would be no value.

Bitcoin's value is worth hundreds of billions USD today. Altcoins however are scams, weak, pyramid schemes not offering these values.

Bitcoin has all the characteristics needed combined to hold the most value and increasing more than any other financial-asset option coming from the manipulated fiat central-banking debt-system. (more than stocks, more than houses, more than gold)
Bitcoin is really makes popularity until now even its too much down the people keep on panicking and some of the holders make it as opportunity for them to buy more bitcoin. Bitcoin really built strong popularity that even millionaires and celebrities now wants to involved in crypto currencies especially in bitcoin. So even it will going to dump more now bitcoin still get popularity because of this issueI think it will become more popular.

I can see that Bitcoin is clearly losing its demand which is just right because of the many uncertainties. We'll see how attempts to regulate it goes.. Turbulent times are still ahead.
It loses its demand because governments are banning it from their country. When a certain country bans cryptocurrencies the citizens of that country are selling all they got which means the supply increases and the price of bitcoin goes down. I agree that it is just another obstacle for bitcoin to face and it will recover we just need to be patient.

I think it is not losing its popularity also I also think that the backdrops that it is now experiencing has nothing to do with its popularity since Bitcoin is not the only cryoto which is experiencing it but also most of the cryptos. This scenario already happened before, lot of times. Just continue hokding and if possible,  take this opportunity to invest in Bitcoin to earn huge profit when its value starts to climb its way up.

Price may seems falling down but bitcoin popularity never falls down because it is trending in the economy and we could see huge people investing every day and many popular stars of film industry choosing bitcoin as their better choice to invest so it always adds value for its popularity.

Perhaps that is what many people think because they have seen the bitcoin fall below the present value, so others stop investing in bitcoin but they're wrong to think bitcoin is sometimes improved sometimes at a slight price , it's just natural that the weather does not always let the situation come just in time that the bitcoin is in the light more and more popular.

How the bitcoin price pumped same way now it is getting dumped and after it get setteled it will go back up, but other coins have not that much stable value like btc. So i think holding bitcoin for long term will give you more profit.

I dont have anything to say now. everything dump so hard. dont know why people panic sell like this? all they think is just making money from bitcoin.

People are thinking get out while they still can without handing over ID and opening them selves up to investigations, I expect to see a penny per coin or this incorrect application of KYC reversed before the price starts to climb again.

When looking at market caps - popular cryptresources, one of the things that many people are focused on is Bitcoin's status in relation to other coins. Although this is a great way to see which coins rise into the ranks and grow in adoption and value, the fact is that bitcoin is unlikely to lose its status of dominant crypto currency - at least right now.
Bitcoin has the advantage of the first switch, since it is the first and oldest crypto currency. This is where adoption began, and, perhaps, why crypto-currencies really have value!

Bitcoin will never lose popularity. From time to time, many people are getting familiar with Bitcoin because they are attracted by the rapidly growing and increasing prices of Bitcoin. People are beginning to see it as an opportunity to invest and do good business. Therefore many people start to know Bitcoin and from time to time, will be more and more. The most prominent promotion I find is in social media. Especially the amount of discussion about the crypto that exist in various facebook groups. I really like to read it because it can increase knowledge and can give profit. There are a lot of people talking about new Altcoin and potential Altcoin going on in the market.

Of course, there are many factors that affect the price of bitcoin, but still I think that it will not lose its leading position in the market.

Maybe Bitcoin miners fees are too high right now and people are taking a break and selling. Also, the slow transactions times are getting ridiculous, so people could be waiting out until the queues clear up. Lots of factors go into why cryptos go up and down.

Bitcoin has become a phenomenon and a sweet history in the world of Cryptocurrency, so I think even today the value of bitcoin still shows a decrease, but I'm sure bitcoin will remain popular, because there are still many users who believe the value of bitcoin will back up exceeding its achievement in the year 2017 ago

I don't think bitcoin will lose its popularity anytime soon. It is actually the first cryptocurrency that people recognize, Its popularity cannot be compared to other cryptos. Maybe in the future, when cryptocurrency becomes well known and accepted by the general public and other alts recognized, only then I think, will its popularity drop.

Have always knew how bad the influence of Government can be to control bitcoin use. The influence is now in areas with larger population of use. If bitcoin doesn't get back till the end of the year another coin might probably replace it. My understanding now is that coin will get more value with the number and efficiency of use.
