Hello guys...

I have diversified my portfolio to about 25 different cryptos which were worth about 7000-8000$ just before the bitcoin crash came and I am wondering whats the exact reason behind this, when or will it recover (and so the alt coins I hold, don't have any bitcoin).

Why do almost all alt coins crash because of the bitcoin crash or correction?

My portfolio is worth only 4000$ atm.

Sorry for being an beginning idiot and asking this and thanks for everybody who can explain it to me

Altcoin may drop because of the pair of bitcoin. so if bitcoin down it is certain altcoin else is very potential to go down. even in the pump. if bitcoin down altcoin also so. so if I think if you invest in 25 different types of coin it is too much. because 25 types of coins must be one of the coin types that dropped dramatically.

My only suggestion is try to look at this website coinmarketcap, in this site you can check the charts of different cryptocurrency that you will be interested to invest and look at its stable price and the growth on this past few months before investing a huge amount.

All I can say is just hold, we do not know when it will recover but I am sure if you continue to hold you will never lose.
That is why the crypto investing is called a high risk is because of this kind of situation, think that the entire marketcap had significantly grow and this time we have witness a lot of bad news which some media have exaggerated it, don't listen to them, do your own analysis because whales are doing everything to buy cheap coins before they will start to pump this again.

Same with me, I dont know how can I explain omething which I didnt know yet for now, how can elaborate the limit knowedge that I have today for the beginners like me, I have struggling with the same thing also, and I think the only thing who can help you is yourself better to search the things you wanted to know which is very deep to be honest but the information was concised and legit unlike in asking to those random strangers who might fool you.

When there is a beginner joining the bitcoin ,try to educate him what is realy a bitcoin ,make a datails and give him a guide on how to follow bitcoin activities and program, and tell the beginners what can bitcoin benefits to the member who join the bitcoin forum.
If you know a person that wants to learn more about cryptocurrencies it is fine to point to them to resources that will help them understand better what cryptocurrencies are all about, but at the same time you need to help them, I would have loved to have a friend or someone that I know and that I trust help me when I was just beginning, unfortunately like most people here I needed to learn by myself.

25 is too many, especially for a rookie.

Condense into 3-4 safe coins. If you are only in this for the money and not the projects then I would consolidate into BTC, LTC, NEO and XRP. They are the safest investments for 2018.

I would HODL until you understand market patterns and can do elementary TA. Then spend a little time everyday studying the TA of the coins you are invested in, identifying the support and resistance lines and adding in your own fib retracements and other indicators you have picked up in online forums.

Never invest more money than you can afford to lose. Consider it as an extra savings account. Whatever you are putting per month into your savings, put 20-50% into your crypto holdings (again, however much you are comfortable putting in). From that, leave 50-80% in your strong, bankable coins (ones I have listed above, or others your own research has given you good cause to believe in) and the small remainder you can start looking at to trade alts.

It is important to adopt a long term philosophy here. Keep studying the market, store your coins on a hardware wallet and above all, stay positive!

I think when you invest something, you need to have knowledge of that field. If you have no knowledge of the field you have invested in, you can lose all of your money without knowing why. You have to invest in yourself before you start investing in something that will help you make more money, I'm not sure you will make a lot of money if you do not have the knowledge. .

I think there are many ways to recover your lost assets, you can buy altcoin after that when the altcoin price goes up you can sell it so you multiply the bitcoin you have otherwise your assets will not recover.

During this prolonged decline in prices in the market, indeed, all altcoins followed the price of bitcoins, and not only for you, the total value of coins in your portfolio has decreased. Why it is difficult to say, but there can not be constant growth or fall, so we need to wait for the next growth.

If you are a beginner, you need to know almost if not everything, at least many things about Bitcoin. But practical involvement in the Business is the only thing which will make you a practical expert. I have heard from the top notch experts that if you are a beginner, you should invest in fraction and let yourself know about the market response. Once you are in the market with the experience and business strategies, you would make huge money in case you are long term investment.
Entering the market is the first step but before entering the market your expensive knowledge is required after that you would be able to make understanding with the experts in the market. Practical involvement is a good point here but practical involvement will also require the basic knowledge what to do then that is also necessary for a beginner.

Yes,there are many different types of  sources that were the beginners can look for answers  and lectures  about bitcoin. They can go online and made some research, but I think the best lectures  are those come from people  who really knows how bitcoin operates. And I am very happy that  there is someone  who is patiently  helping me tk understand bitcoin, and also I just want to say thank you for all the Senior  members  that are active  in teaching  and guiding  beginners.

well, basically you have to take the risk for that. many ways to understand something, even you can find the material on the internet, or on youtube. so many very detailed explanations about crypto. but, experience, and dare to take risks will make you understand very quickly.

Honestly I am a beginner also of bitcoin online forum. What I am doing first is learn through online research of what really bitcoin is and how to get benefits from it. Until such time when I have a little knowledge about bitcoin through research and reading articles to get information about bitcoin, I started working bitcoin by joining signature bounty campaign and still I am continuing learning on how to participate it effectively. With this I am hoping that by joining bounty campaign I can developed widely my knowledge about bitcoin and also to earn income as well in the near future. This is how I get started bitcoin from the beginning.

Begginers first do some act of researching about cryptocurrency. And by that all we need is to hold the coins until it gets higher just be patience until the end you will see how it works. Other than that you can ask some experts about bitcoin and the world of cryptocurrency.

I think every altcoin drops when Bitcoin drops only because Bitcoin is still seen as a flagman in crypto world.
Although it is not the best platform where to develop projects anymore, Ethereum and NEO are way better for building new applications and Smart Contracts for new ideas or implement into other companies.

Hopefully, soon it will change and top 20 coins will live their own life and not follow each and every price fluctuations of Bitcoin.

It's hard to give a simple explanation for this but I'll try.  Basically, most coins follow the trend with bitcoin, to some degree.  As bitcoin drops, so does everything else.  It creates panic in the market across the board and people sell and get out.  If you still have roughly the same amount of coins that you had back then there's a very strong possibility that when bitcoin recovers so will those coins.  It's not guaranteed, but I'd consider keeping them longer than just a few months and then analyzing it again.

and it is better if we can teach them so they can know more deeply about bitcoin from us and with our instruction, they can start to earn although they cannot earn bitcoin, at least they can earn tokens. and if they have a passion to learn more about bitcoin, I am sure that they can do more than us and they can also earn money from the cryptocurrency.
