Lack of knowledge with bitcoin and investing in it will put you in trouble most especially if you use your fund that are intended for something else or something more important like money for your monthly budget, money for medical expenses, money to pay for the rentals or monthly bills and others. Your phrase is not wrong, but i think why people invest in cryptocurrency especially bitcoin because they know very well what they are doing is their own choice and ready with the risk that will happen. Although there are times when they ask for help from the old bitcoin users. I personally even get an order to invest my neighbor's money into my coins (entrusting their money to me), he does not even ask for a convention if my investment is not as expected. In my opinion, investing is the first step in knowing about bitcoin, as well as other cryptocurrencies, once you have invested some, then definitly you will see how the market goes and gradually you will be able to make smart desicions. Just remember, you should only invest the amount that you can afford to lose, the cryptoworld is very risky, so chance of losses are very much high.

I think they have to have enough knowledge about bitcoin to help them prepare to deal with the risks. It may not be a gamble since you have sufficient money to control the price of altcoins.
But if you have not that much money, of course, do more research about bitcoins or other altcoins.
Most of the investor as you said just want to make quick money from these projects.
And that is why bitcoin goes crazy.
