You Can Now Send Bitcoin With A Single Tweet 🐥 ₿

The global payment app Bottlepay just launched its integrated Bitcoin Social Media feature, which allows their users to make transactions to another user automatically, without fees, in a single Twitter post.

Due to its skyrocketing popularity, Bitcoin transaction fees have risen significantly since last year. And so, Bottlepay decided to circumvent those fees by using the Lightning Network, a second-layer solution that avoids network congestion by taking BTC transactions off-chain.

“Bottlepay’s social Bitcoin payments are a much-needed update on the clunky, outdated payment systems available up until now, and a leap towards smoother, easier transactions,” said Bottlepay CEO Mark Webster.

If you’re new to the crypto space, it can be confusing to hear all the technical terms and abbreviations constantly being used.
So in this series, we´ll explain the meaning behind frequently used technical terms in the blockchain space!

REKT is an internet slang for “wrecked,” meaning severely damaged or utterly destroyed and ruined.
In the crypto community, rekt often refers to someone who has experienced a heavy financial loss due to a wrong #trade or investment, or whose trading position has been liquidated.

Why You Can't Cheat On #Bitcoin ☝️

In order to create #Bitcoin, you need a so-called “miner” which receives BTC as a reward for completing “blocks” of verified transactions.

Let's say everybody is working on block 91, but one miner wants to alter a transaction in block 74 - all the computations for blocks 74-90 would have to be re-done.
And what’s even harder - that would have to be completed before everyone else in the Bitcoin network finished the one block (91) that they’re working on, which is almost impossible.

This simplified example demonstrates why a Blockchain, the underlying technology of any cryptocurrency, is absolutely tamper-proof. Transactions are immutable and transparently recorded on the Blockchain with a time stamp.

The #crypto world is decentralized and transparent - replacing the need to trust a central authority or system!

Half a Billion People Just Had Their #Facebook #Data #Leaked ❗️
A few days ago, it was released that private information like full names, birthdates, past locations, and email addresses of half a billion Facebook users got leaked on a well-trafficked #hacking forum.

Just at the beginning of 2021, Facebook already made negative headlines when hackers used bots to gain access to users phone numbers. But this most recent hacks takes the privacy concerns to another level!

On #decentralised platforms however, a data leak like this wouldn’t be possible!

Bitcoin Owner Has Made Peace With Potential $385 Million Loss 😨💸

German programmer Stefan Thomas made headlines earlier this year after he lost the password to his hard drive and therefore access to 7.002 Bitcoins. The hard drive was an #IronKey device which gives owners 10 chances to guess their password before encrypting the contents.
⇢ Thomas only had two attempt left to guess correctly before this situation occurred.

Thomas now lives in San Francisco and recently told KGO-TV in an interview that time heals wounds and he had made peace with his potential loss.
However, Thomas is only one of several #Bitcoin owners who have been locked out of their wallets which has left a large amount of Bitcoins collectively worth a few hundred million dollars unable to be retrieved. ❌
