Hi guys,
I agree that it would be much more spammy here without a system like merit, and that trading merit per se is not something good. I'm currently looking forward to become a Junior Member and just wonder how often it happens that someone actually gives merit to someone else? Is that only done for exceptionally good posts? Not looking into detailed stats, just wondering what my chances are.

That's it. The system of merit motivates both old and new users to write more informed messages, better choose the question before answering or commenting, and also teaches users to search to some extent, so as not to fall into the mud in front of forum users.

  you are right before getting in the market I think one should know about the movement of the market very well because as you said getting in without information is just like falling in the mud, or jumping in the river even you don’t know how to swim, so merit it not a thing to sell or to buy but it is like gaining, you will have to work for it and struggle.

There would be always those kind of people who do really willing to pay for that much for a merit yet they do know that having a higher account on this forum is
really valuable when it  comes to campaigns and other related task that do give out chance on making some profits out of those.
Selling of merits do fly around without even noticed by mods or dt's.

The intention to implement merit in this community is good and pure. It is purposely lifted to filter out the good-quality posters from the spammers to maintain the high standard of this forum. But sad to say, many people here engage in buying and selling of it or are just giving it away for friendship's sake, and this is so unfair to those who are striving to get one. I understand that it's a plus point if you have one, and if you are a newbie with many posts done, it gives you the privilege to join signature campaign since it will promote your status to junior member. But please, give your merit only to those who are qualified and deserving. We can help contribute productively to this forum if we'll not pollute it and let polluters in.

Are you sure they are banned from trading merit? I guess that is not their punishment, they might have negative feedback by DT members if they found out that merit trading or even selling. Both the sender and the receiver will possible have tagged by DT members.
I am happy now with my rank even I did not get even single merit, at least I know I'm not a merit beggar and also I am not shitposter. As long as we can help here and doing abusement is not necessary.

Always we need to work on making good posts by helping the OP's question, assisting someone on their technical issues.

These things will automatically earn the merit for your efforts. nothing else needed.

It depends on the case bro 1 merit I think is not an abusive thing. Sending 1 merit to a user who sent you 1 merit is not an abusive to the merit system especially if the topic/post that merited really deserves to be merited. If the user 1 send a merit to user 2 and user 2 find a post of the user 1 that is helpful or constructive and also contributes to the forum then that is not abusing.

I have seen the warning but still I know there are so many people who just try to gain money they heir innocent and talented people to get their high quality posting and pay them small amount, but this is not good everyone should get what they deserve and try to work hard them buying merit to earn haram, they should be blocked from forum.

Possible abuse is inevitable yet people would really always find out a way just to take advantage among other people or simply take
advantage on the system as long it can give out edge and benefit towards the.About that merit trading,these people do usually get red trust
between the sender and receiver but this is only if the case do have sufficient evidence but DT's dont easily judge out unless if its really an obvious one.

I just don't understand why anyone would be trading merits,  but whatever,  the bitcointalk organizers made it that way,  cause if they never made a way for people to exchange merits then people wouldn't be doing that,  it's because they made it easy for people to do such things, so everyone would be doing it until they stop it. And I wouldn't really such people cause everyone is looking for a way they can make money.

Most of people who find themselves in such situations are usually tempted to do so. When you have nothing to do and you have no money, you will be forced to.

  Of course the team should be strict in this regard, because of they will ban such people at once no one will be able to buy or sell trading merit. He was just joking, I'm sure.
Trading merit (buying and selling) is like an account farming, no difference. Merit buyers want to rank up without making something useful for community (like helpful posts) and the sellers of course have done inappropriate thing, which makes this forum worse. However merit giveaway is not a bad thing, you might get merit for doing something useful but after that it will be like you've made something fake or not really natural.

It is not fair to buy the merit because merit and high rank depends on our own hard work if we will work on it we will be able to get fair and huge earning. This forum is for all of us to make money we can make useful post about the topic and it will give us good result at the end, trading is another thing as for trading you will have to spend money but to make merit you will have to use your ideas and thinking about related topics.
