There are other tools you can use as well that auto run to help debug potential problems Just attach to any screen sessions that are disconnected. If you have 3 entry's into the proxy pools then you will have 3 screens running in the background. typing sudo screen -r will give you a list of screen sessions. if their is only 1 it will automaticly connect. If their are more then 1 it will show you a list of numbers. to connect your session to that screen just type sudo screen -r #### the number of the screen session goes where the # signs are. example sudo screen -r 2115 Here are 4 active sessions the top two screens are bitfury2 details. The bottom two screens are bitfury1 details. This is the test results on 50btc.com As you can see there are two avalon units one oc'ed and one not. Has anyone had any luck getting more than 4 h-boards running on the same m-board? My rig is stable with all boards running at above 25gh/s when I have 4 h-boards. When I add the next 4 h-boards they seem to auto tune down in speed to the point where the output on an 8 h-board rig is no faster than a 4 h-board rig. Anyone have any hints?

The 8 board results auto tune the clock speed down to the point where the chips are hashing about 1/2 speed where I get full advertised speed out of the 4 board run. Any help or suggestions would be great. /cet

I would start by turning of chip 1 and 57.
Then see what results you get after 30 mins.
and the question is do you have fans on the unit? If you do thats good as I notice that if they get hot they autotune lower because of the increased error rate.

I do have a fan on the boards. Is there a better way to turn off a chip than setting autotune to 'a' and speed to 0? does the best.conf file get overwritten if I put new boards onto the m-board? I'm not sure how tweeking a couple of chips in the first 4 boards would change things so much that it would allow me to put more h-boards on without generating all the errors that I saw in earlier runs - is it that significant? /cet

I moved the fan a LOT further away where they just keep the air moving around the cards. Now there's no problem.
You might be seeing a similar issue depending on your setup.
Ha! I thought this could be the reason, vibration induced by the flow, so I removed my fans from Spotswood case. I'll try to have them reversed, so that they suck up air through the cards instead of pushing it, this should cause less vibrations. We'll see. spiccioli

I do have a fan on the boards. Is there a better way to turn off a chip than setting autotune to 'a' and speed to 0? does the best.conf file get overwritten if I put new boards onto the m-board? Chip number 25 is not turned off. You can tell by the fact that there is still numbers on the line and by the big 0 next to the off. I have found you should set the aifdso to all lower case in order to effectively turn off a chip. You can probably get away with putting ai lowercase. However I use letters lowercase text to disable the chip.

Hey Zurg - I am in the same boat with my EOL card. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=288109.msg3110570#msg3110570I am going to try jumping with solder bridges to see if I can get past the blockage. Without a multi-meter (and knowledge of how to use it) there is no way to know if the blockage is at the last chip reported... or the next chip. I receive my soldering station today and will report my results tonight. Worst case, I will be taking my EOL board from 6 chips to 5 chips.... Best case I will take it to 15 (though more likely 14).

I had a bunch of issues with mine when I first set them up due to fans. They caused the boards to vibrate slightly and that killed my hashrate.
I moved the fan a LOT further away where they just keep the air moving around the cards. Now there's no problem.
You might be seeing a similar issue depending on your setup.
I'm giving this a try, but I would think that if this were the problem then it would exist on lower count h-board rigs just as much as on bigger rigs. I suspect that something like the power failures we see in block eruptors is more likely the root cause. I'm currently running on a 500 w psu but I think the m-board is likely powered off of one rail. There are two pci jacks coming out of the psu but I think it's likely the same set of lines just inside. Could that make a difference? The power consumption is fine, well under the rated ability of the PSU (ball park of around 100watts at the wall). It looks like 5 h-cards is the tipping point. I can get 121 gh/s out of 5 but at that point I'm starting to see degradation in the hash rate on all boards where if I start the rig with fewer cards then I get greater performance 25gh/s on all of the installed boards. /cet

I had a bunch of issues with mine when I first set them up due to fans. They caused the boards to vibrate slightly and that killed my hashrate.
I moved the fan a LOT further away where they just keep the air moving around the cards. Now there's no problem.
You might be seeing a similar issue depending on your setup.
I'm giving this a try, but I would think that if this were the problem then it would exist on lower count h-board rigs just as much as on bigger rigs. I suspect that something like the power failures we see in block eruptors is more likely the root cause. I'm currently running on a 500 w psu but I think the m-board is likely powered off of one rail. There are two pci jacks coming out of the psu but I think it's likely the same set of lines just inside. Could that make a difference? EOL = End of Line board It was send to people who's 1st board in a 25k kit wasn't running at 25k So the board is essentially has limited hashing power.. 1: 23.078GH/s 2: 14.317GH/s my EOL board is only 14Gh/s

Some H-boards have errors that keep them from communicating properly. Those boards have to be placed at the end of the communication chain or End Of Line.

Would be really great to get them all up to the 30GH somehow.

You can do full rig but you need some thing to cool down boards or put heatsink on each board.
