If you don't want a lost on your investment then you should wait and hold clearly all you need to do is trust the process of bitcoin and help support increase the demand for bitcoin. Instead of whining and complaining let us buy some bitcoin.

I bought 3 btc on credit for 19k about. What should I do? I am way underwater.
You don't have any choice, you already lose a lot so maybe it is better to just hold until bitcoin will recover more and hit another ATH's this year. Having a patience can make you profitable in a long run.

At the moment the best move seems to be hold. The loss is already very large. The price is already beginning to grow. You need patience and time, and certainly the price will increase.

It's important to risk management at this stage, not maximizing gain

You are saying something about risk management to someone who did invest more than he could afford to lose, and most importantly with borrowed money. Actually I think he is a troll because such people would never wait so much and would panic sell much earlier when the price started to go down, especially when you took a credit.
Apparently, he had no knowledge and still has no knowledge about risk management and that would be more like speaking to the air. How will even a sane person buy with credit when the market is really going pretty high and everyone is busy buying ?

He is either a dumb investor, extremely greedy or does not even have any common sense (sorry to say). If he is not a troll like you said, and he is for real, then I guess no one can help him and he must have learned his lessons by now which I hope he manages to escape.

There is no other way around. If you sell it you still lose, if you hold it, you have chances of either losing it totally if bitcoin price will not recover or benefitting 2 or 3x your capital if the speculations every one makes will indeed happen.

The number 1 rule is dont buy when the value is high and you didnt mind whatever the price is when you bought your coins so now you dont have any option but to hold and wait for the value to recover. At the moment the price is getting higher slowly and this is a good sign for us investors.

There is no other way around. If you sell it you still lose, if you hold it, you have chances of either losing it totally if bitcoin price will not recover or benefitting 2 or 3x your capital if the speculations every one makes will indeed happen.
Yes but when you hold there is a chance you can get back your money in time especially if you are long term hodler.

You invest here and expect to make easy money? Bro you lend too much just to own bitcoin that means you study well on how this market works or else you will feel like that. Hold on it, no way to turn back don't make a decision right now cause you will surely broke. Be more patient and bitcoin will bounce back on time.

Nothing to it but to hold it. It will be back above 19k later this year. If you have some more casholies on you, might be a good time to cost average your way down a little bit, that way you can start making profit even before it hits 19k again.

You and me at the same situation that we have bought at a high price and now the market is tough so the holding strategy is good and those who have some knowledge of the market then the prices were good to buy at that time it is a wise decision for us to hold now because the selling will cause us a huge loss and we will not bear that loss for me it is very painful that i have holding a good reserve and the value is not good at current price.

Yeah, if you sell it right now, you have to bear a heavy loss as the price is still about 8500$, leaving no other choice for you other than holding it. However, I believe the price will soon uptrend and achieve new ATH this year. But for that, you have to keep faith in it and hold it for as long as you could...

That so much pain that you bought at 19K the price of bitcoin that you can not profit from now, if you sell it right now that's big losses to you there is one thing you can do just keep holding this is long journey for bitcoin to reach back again at $19k.

dam never understand people who buy on top lol  Huh  what they thinking ?

after it past 12000 it was already to scary to get in  so 19000, no need to be an expert to see that  the price was really to high to buy and hold

instead of waiting it will hit 20k again  you need to buy again now for 25% at lease    so you can sell at lower price if need

and i advice also to put your full amount of bitcoin on bitfinex and lend it , (but be aware that is not 100% safe, exchange can be hacked or they run away with exchange money you never know, but risk are smaller  i think in your case it s wroth to do it

Why it's completely your fault you should never ever make a investment from credit I'm happy coinbase doesn't allow users to buy bitcoin with credit card it is people like you who try to buy bitcoin without being able to afford. You are surely going underwater

Not alot of understanding there, 19000 or any price can be the top so far as we know.      The best advice is to buy in regularly not in one go, so its easy for some of us who have been involved for many years to say this.    Anyone new has to dive in to some extent, the fees encouraged that scale some.  I'd say generally buy on a one year time scale, I'd state the same for stocks or a stock fund buying into an index even.  So a buy every month over a year will get a more average price and will yield a better chance of a gain.

If the price is rising as you buy over that year, you'd gain less then just buying at the start but its also less risky.   Its a much better idea to spread over time like that for any asset, gold, commodities, stocks, bonds.   Pretty much anything, unless the BTC was actual required soon after but most people are speculating.    I'd like the market to spread with more actual business so people like this dont get isolated at one particular price, nobody should be putting down some new to the market as thats hardly going to encourage growth.

Its possible to stay in BTC but deposit some of it with a business concern.   It should be possible to receive interest, I would at least read on such possibilities.  3 BTC is alot of money, I wouldnt keep it all in one place

Heres the idea I'm referring to : https://www.investopedia.com/terms/d/dollarcostaveraging.asp

I bought 3 btc on credit for 19k about. What should I do? I am way underwater.

According to my calculations based on the Gdax exchange, BTC dropped just over 70% from the high last December.  The good news is that yesterday may have been the low for 2018 and it should rebound fairly quickly IMO.

I haven't read the comments above, but just hodL and you should be OK. Look at the longer term, like a few years from now. BTC has had some massive selloffs over the years similar to the one we just experienced. The crypto market is one of the most volatile markets around.

You may want to look into and learn basic technical analysis before investing again.
Right, and to even add to that, for someone who bought at the top, this should even be a good time to buy more at the dip for more profit in the long run because whether we like it or not, once the uptrend starts, bitcoin will go back testing the previous support turned resistance and probably break it as we hit the final one which is the present ATH before testing the new ones. The period in between all this is enough to recuperate and head on for the next run.

All the above, no one can really predict what the future holds, but if all ends up going fine and good, I really do not see how the interest can be that huge that he would not be able to pay up. Well, I am not a fan of using borrowed money to invest, most especially when there is a huge volatility risk, but would rather just use free money. So in that case, the decision is definitely in his hands.
