The Japanese economy has experienced decades of stagnation, faced with a huge public debt and the problem of reducing the population and the tax base. Therefore, now Japan hopes to benefit from the crypto-currency market.

Japan is in a better position in technology and education than other countries. Japan may be the world's first cryptocurrency capital.

Japan is interested in controlling the crypto currency. Tax revenues from the crypto-currency business, according to the economist of the Tokyo division of Credit Suisse Takashi Shiono, can bring the country about 1 trillion yen (9.2 billion dollars).

For Japan, it is economically beneficial to control the crypto-currency market.
According to experts, crypto currencies can add about 0.3% to Japan's GDP growth. The total growth of the country's GDP this year could be about 20%.

The Japanese economy has experienced decades of stagnation, faced with a huge public debt and the problem of reducing the population and the tax base. Therefore, now Japan hopes to benefit from the crypto-currency market.

Japan's population is dropping (it has been falling since 2014). GDP per capita is actually rising, which means they're getting richer.

I personally think they decided to legalise bitcoin when China banned it - they saw an opportunity to take the lead and leave their old rival behind.

WELL THATS A GREAT NEWS.
Even I have heard there is a company who is ready to pay their employees salary in terms of bitcoin.
Crypto currency is the future and eventually all countries will accept someday.

According to the information, the plan of Japan is to attract international investors the maximum freedom to use crypto currency, while the rest of the world is trying to limit it. Japan is interested in controlling the crypto currency, and not in its prohibition.
That will be a good thing especially those countries in which most of their population is using bitcoin. Instead of banning it from their country why not find another way just like what japan is trying to implement. Japan has always been the leading when it comes to technology and it is not new that they are the first country that is making use of this new technology which is the blockchain.

Hi,

I am not sure this piece of news really reveals something new... Japan is already a step ahead of most countries regarding cryptos. The government is not trying to implement limitating regulations and some companies even offer their employees to get paid in bitcoin.

So yeah, Japan is a step ahead. But the "capital" of bitcoin doesn't mean much, as one purpose of bitcoin is to get rid of frontiers. Wink

Well, from the creator's pseudo name, no wonder they would want to dominate the crypto market. If that becomes the case, I would live there. Ah, what a paradise.

Despite the major hacker attacks, Japan plans to become the world capital of the bitcoins and take the leading place on cryptology. To do this, it continues to attract investment.

At the moment the japanese trustee in the Mt. Gox case is the new bear whale on town!
I guess you all have read the news how many coins he has sold over the last 2 months!
And he still has a ton of of them. I just don't understand why he isn't going OTC and selling there.
That's why right now Japan isn't making any good headlines, at least not for me.

Japan has always been the pioneering innovator in many areas, especially technology, but at some point they will be stalled by external constraints.

Japan is now ahead of not only technology, but also social development. I think that the advantages and problems that now exist in Japan will be in the rest of the world in the near future. Therefore, if they did bet on bitcoin, everyone else should listen to their "advice" Smiley

well, they deserve it because they already know that crypto will bring them again to success that is why they are aiming to make Japan as the capital for cryptocurrency, I'll just leave the decision for all the experts as I don't know what to say about this issue.

Damn! I dont know that. But you can just justify that. Just because Mt Gox used to be japanese exchange, you shouldnt state that Japan goverment is bad too. You cant just generalize that.
I hope other countries will follow this path too. Blockchain needs to be globally adopted to be benefitting for many people

Hopefully that's true, with the plan of japan to become the capital of bitcoin, will prove to the world that bitcoin is very profitable. and make countries that ban bitcoin, will realize that, bitcoin can help the country's economy, hopefully in the future more and more countries will receive bitcoin.

Well to be perfectly honest, I cannot think of any other country to  be the Bitcoin capital of the world other than Japan. They are very open and excited in welcoming and embracing cryptocurrency and Bitcoin, their government, their businesses and the entire nation has a warm welcome to it. They want it to be well known, widely used and grow and reach all the possibilities and good things it can give them. They are also using it as their tool in order to improve and enhance their economy. I hope more and more country would see cryptos and Bitcoin the way they did.
