How do you guys think? Do we need regulations in the crypto world? Should only ICO be regulated or legit coins (not "security tokens") too? Can we implement regulations mechanisms in code so that corrupted governmental institutions couldn't manipulate the industry? Can we still have free market with governments' regulations across the world?

Please, share your thoughts. I'm a bit confused about what's happening right now.
This topic is really relevant! Of course I would like to protect myself when choosing ICO projects and investing in them. But at the moment it's not easy. The market is also susceptible to the influence of many factors, there are great speculations. I want more transparency.

I think they are needed without exceeding the limits, somehow the balance must be maintained so that the government can yield, and the bitcoin becomes a currency of legal circulation worldwide, this would also help to avoid speculation.

Of course. Regulation is very important for all cryptoes especially in bitcoin. Regulations are established to prevent or keep crypto safe from irresponsible persons. And to keep the quality in order not to be misused. With the rules of the user or investor will feel safe.

I think for the technology behind bitcoin to benefit all the members of the society government need to come in to play the regulation role, if not many member of the cryptocurrencies world will be scammed with a lot of pump and dump token. But when the government step in and regulate the cryptocurrencies market but not to control it.

Yes I do think tha bitcoins or any other crypto currency got regulated only then bitcoins can be legal tender by government and also that bitcoins would get a trust being regulated which would encourage people who were scared to invest in before. There are many scam and shit ICO which had scammed many people, being regulated it would make easy to decide and invest in ICOs.

It really depends on what aspect of  bitcoin should be regulated, there are many things or factors to be considered, the use of bitcoin in funding illegal activities, product or services, illegal acquisition of bitcoin thru scams and schemes, high transfer fees,  as for the marketing, globally, bitcoin is not yet accepted therefore it ccnnot be regulated by any country.

You guys seem to go for regulation, but please tell me how to regulate something that is worldwide or even virtually used ?
So what you gonna get is strong regulation or even ban in "foe" countries like China, France, Germany for instance and low regulation in "friendly" countries like Japan, Philippines, Singapore, Switzerland.

Crypto to crypto trading like Poloniex will never be regulated, as it is a waste of time and not necessarily.

So I would say Exchangers to fiat and ICO could be regulated as those are the main concerns of the governments (for tax issues, of course) but since you won't be able to get a world consensus, you may see soon ICO/Exchangers havens popping.

Just my 2 cents.

When does bureaucracy helped anyone in life? It just makes things more complicated and stressful for ordinary people. If you like regulations you have fiat under your disposal, but don't hurt Crypto-Currency world because you want to adopt the digital currencies, but with the same fiat's modus operandi.

It's the same behavior of that person who lives in a failed/chaotic country and wants to go to a first world country to turn that one into the failure his originary country is.

of course we can have a free market, with the rules that are mutually agreed and beneficial to both parties
and rules are needed, so that everyone knows what to do and what not to do, and of course we also have to comply with the regulations that have been made and agreed together

When does bureaucracy helped anyone in life?

Seriously? Go back to the 19th century and eat bread stuffed with plaster of paris when wheat prices were high, and choke to death. The only reason practices like that stopped is because of regulation. Some regulation is good.

It's better for stuff to be sensibly regulated and taxed, than to be either banned or left unregulated so that the scammers come to dominate teh market.

How do you call someone or something taking more than 50% of what you earn ?

I would say yes. With regulations and strong network, many investors will coming jump into this crypto business. Board exchanges and technical can doing works with confidence. Although, this can't be guarantee to wipe out illegal activities by using crypto network but at least we go step forward for being mainstream.

Some regulation is good.

And who does decide if the regulation is good or not? The ordinary Crypto users don't have any choice power. Or they accept the regulation or they accept.

It's better for stuff to be sensibly regulated and taxed,

It can only be sensibly regulated if both parts have equal influence in the process, it's not the case. Government > Crypto enthusiasts.

than to be either banned or left unregulated so that the scammers come to dominate teh market.

That is pure blackmail. If people don't accept the government's terms, Bitcoin will be banned.

An unregulated market can only be dominated by scammers if the investor's majority are scammers as well. We aren't dealing with kids here, investors know about the risks and know many investments are scam, if they want to make legit businesses they will avoid these scammers. And if they don't want to avoid, problem is theirs, it's their own money in risk.

Everything at some point needs to be regulated so that chaos does not happen. So yes we do need regulations, but thoughts would be what exactly the regulations are to serve? For example is it regulations to ensure checks and balances, and so that people are not scammed via ICOs, I will support that. If its regulations are ensures only a specific number of worthy/valuable crypto-currencies are out there I will support that. However, if it's regulations that supposed to be tax heavy of the coins and currencies and largely beneficial to the governments and big financial corporations I will not support that. As we are already facing that with paper/fiat currency. One of the reasons crypto-currencies were created was to avoid this; thus, it defeats the purpose.

Actually market is very free, but I agree with that we need regulations related to ico. I think such regulations will have a good effect on the market in the long term.

If goverment or any other special financial institution can prevent future criminal activities without strict regulations, which activities may be danger for social security, for our society in this situation We don't need,But if they cann't of course we need it,its not about only ICO's...but from a theoritical point of view its impossible. So we agree that we need regulations, but this regulations must be only necessary and acquitted to not restrict human rights(property rights, etc),regulations mustn't be disproportion to the limitation.

I say yes. We need regulation. Regulation does not only mean that it is for the government to take control.
We can't see the fact that safety is everyone's concern. Not just he governments nor individually but in general.
Through bitcoins decentalization, crime rate increases  and regulating it may help track suspicious transaction.
We are given the chance for financial freedom and some just don't have discipline.

I think that setting the rules in the cryptocurrency market is very difficult because most investors are involved in this market because crypto provides anonymity for them and nobody knows what they are who. If there are clear rules but no one does, it is very difficult to deal with disputes or conflicts.

of course, regulations are needed to maintain a balance in a country, and other things in which there must be a wrong and right element in it. In addition to equilibrium, regulations are also made as benchmarks or parameters of society against a thing. When it is said to be a violation and when it is still considered something reasonable. Thus, the law can be applied on the basis of the established rules.
