Nobody can tell what will happen to bitcoin but what we do know for sure is that right now, bitcoin is worth about $9000 and that is what matters. That bitcoin has value now and you have some to call you own.

My opinion is that the big banks are working at this very minute on their own crypto and it's a race to see who is the first one out.  I did read that it is possible in years to come for a few cryptos to exist and people will have a choice of what to use. You can imagine it like this: Bitcoin is the "king", Ethereum is the "city" where bitcoin rules and ICO's are the "stores" in that city. Those stores can close-up anytime but the king and its city will still function as it was before.  Grin Cheesy

In the morning I read the news where one of the leading multinational finance company stats that the “Bitcoin & Other Cryptocurrency will be zero”. So is it possible? If possible then which instructions should be followed getting out of debt?
This is just some speculation, and I don't think it will happen. It's hard to get bitcoin to die, and even if all the countries in the world ban it, its price won't go to zero unless the Internet is shut down, but I don't think it's possible.
Agree with the discussion because the price is made just to improve and it use to increase with the time, I am satisfied with the bitcoin present value and it it will never get down at all. bitcoin currency is the need of the day because people are buying bitcoin more and more so it is causing highly increasing price, investors are being the back bone of the bitcoin and investors are trusting bitcoin with every rose in price and the market value will be very high soon,

Can't imagine that's going to happen considering bitocin's market cap and price right now. It's possible that bitcoin will plummet down but impossible to make bitcoin valueless at all.

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/btc?HashingPower=4730&HashingUnit=GH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=1293&CostPerkWh=0.12&MiningPoolFee=1

To mine 0.1319, using 1293w, you have a cost of $1359.20 per year.

Bitcoin is already below mining costs.

Now, some people will talk about difficulty adjustment, but there are those checkpoints which works as protection against a 51% attack. Core released 0.16 recently, so miners cant adjust the difficulty to below this threshold.

To go to zero, would mean that most of the miners would have to abandon the boat, and with less miners the network would be clogged, unless we also have less users, which will also probably happen. But who would mine it at a loss? Bitcoin would probably be dead before reaching zero.

Sounds interesting but I'm not sure I understand, why can't they lower the threshold as of v0.16?

There is no chance bitcoin will ever be zero because as long as it exist it will always have a price
As long as there are investors and we are here bitcoin will remain to have value whether it's big or not but it won't go to zero. When it goes back to $6,000 or lower many will buy from that time and it will result for bitcoin to gain more of its value as investors will keep on investing.

Yes it is very possible that the value of Bitcoin will become  zero as in no more value at all. This is if no one will invest to Bitcoin anymore or all nations will against Bitcoin and declaring it an illegal investments  but the good thing is currently most of the countries believed, adapt and supported Bitcoin investments that is why for now it is impossible for Bitcoin to become no value.

I think NO! The value of bitcoin will not go down to zero because nowadays it is very useful to the crypto world. Bitcoin may dump but it will not come to the point that it will become zero, besides bitcoin is the main or base of all altcoins. When the value will be zero so, all altcoins will become worthless. In addition to that no more investors trust bitcoin and it is a big loss to all bitcoiners.

why not? Cant you see bitcoin right now is going down and it is struggling to recover. Sooner or later bitcoin will become doomed and the bubble era will begin to happen again just like in the dot com bubble. altcoins wont also be affected with it because they are not related to bitcoins. Their prices and usefullness are totally different to each other, altcoins price is based on usd and etherium that is why altcoins have thier own market.

The bitcoin boom is coming to an end. And the death of this short era of craziness regarding crypto currency is quite possibly the work of government regulators

Yes and No...The complications of the us tax agency might cause others to do business elsewhere (Like europe). when you can walk up to any merchant in the world and use bitcoin instead of cash, credit, or atm visa then bitcoin will continue to surge. Right now I think the lightning network is a blessing and a problem at the same time. short term no ones making money on mining but if the amount of transactions go way up and costs go way down then bitcoin + lightning will surge again. we might be going sideways for six months until this happens.

It's zero on those banned countries but on countries on where it is accepted, it will not go to zero. People see the ease of transacting virtual currencies and they trust bitcoin more so it will still have a significant value.

Well, although currency failures are generally due to the kind of hyperinflation that is unlikely to happen to Bitcoin, but, there is always the potential for technical failures, currency competition, political issues and so on.

As a basic rule of thumb, no currency can be considered very safe from failure and difficult times. Bitcoin has proven to be reliable for years since its declaration and has great potential to continue growing.

After all, no one can predict that the future will side with or kill bitcoin.

i don't think it will...bitcoin has big investors and for me they won't allow it to happen...unless all of them will with withdraw but it doesn't so we have to be patient to just wait and instead invest more while it is still affordable

One of the reasons I do not think bitcoin will go anywhere near zero is because we are now seeing crypto banks which will directly support bitcoin and all other crypto coins if our fiat banks do not want to support them and with more companies tokenizing their products sooner or later everyone will be forced to use them preserving a high price for bitcoin.
