Yes, or I think make a text file then change it to .conf and drop it in the data folder. You should make a few with any possible name variation offering.conf, offerings.conf, offeringcoin.conf . One person is on 1.6.0 right now which might not synch. 1.6.2 definitely wotks and 1.7 might work if you can figure it out but nobody is on that wallet now, maybe hard to figure out. 

Once the cryptolull is over and the masses swarm in these three coins will slowly take over the world.

It just means it uses the Qt widget toolset (www. qt.io), it's a graphical user interface in contrast to the command line daemon you can run. 99% of all altcoins use this user interface so it's nothing suspicious by itself.

You're right. The OFF pool isn't on their website, but the second link shows blocks found today.
That's weird. Maybe they're collecting the coins for themselves.
It's a sign that our Lord will wake soon....

If you want to mine, try solo mining, it's much more fun than pools.
It recreates the feeling of early bitcoin miners... Sort of...
You can use in wallet miner as hrb-alpha said, or any quark cpu-miner (eg. pooler-cpuminer-2.4.5)

Zeewolf did you ever get it to compile?  I am not sure what source is up on git but I found the last source I had that compiled, 1.6.2-Bokrug.  I am thinking there needs to be more than 1 sync node, I'd hate to see this coin die.  Thank the dark lord for Cryptopia.

I downloaded and compiled the version from Github (which seems to be 1.7 from the README.md) on Ubuntu.  As expected from the comments, the most-updated version didn't seem to find any connections after I prepared the config file with the nodes I could find that seemed active recently; that is, the config file contains:

After searching for this info I found using the command
dpkg -S /usr/include/boost/version.hpp the output of "libboost1.58-dev:amd64"

(Also when I open that file in a text editor, embedded in there are the lines:

and #define BOOST_LIB_VERSION "1_58"  ).  So evidently boost version 1.58.

I also get this error when I try to build against boost 1.58 (I'm not sure what it's use is either but it seems popular among C++-programmers ).

and search for this line

It should work after changed to
