The offerings won't be moving for a bit though as it looks like someone stalled the chain using an ASIC to move a few thousand OFF (https://chainz.cryptoid.info/off/) but abruptly ceased their worship.  The Great Ritual will have to be postponed; may Cthulhu slay that half-hearted worshipper for this outrage!

SOMEONE WITH A HIGH HASHRATe (sorry capslock) comes and mines a lot of blocls then disappears until the difficulty has dropped days later.

its an ugly practice and not that rare.

You don't need the testnet ports open, only the P2P port. If you're using 1.4, the in-wallet mining controls are in the options window, just choose your level of desired worship and let it run!
