Repository on github has been removed or deleted, looks like the dev screwed all holders of this coin.

update on that repo. It builds, a daemon fell out of make and it found peers.
Syncing the chains, let's see where it ends up.
Debugging stuff like this for practise is fun xD
Why do people let their exchange-listed coins rot? meh.

Edit: it syncs up to this block but source is too old.

$ offerings/src/Offeringd getinfo
{
    "version" : 1010000,
    "protocolversion" : 70002,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 0.00000000,
    "blocks" : 591599,
    "timeoffset" : 0,
    "connections" : 2,
    "proxy" : "",
    "difficulty" : 34.12052545,
    "testnet" : false,
    "keypoololdest" : 1528400240,
    "keypoolsize" : 101,
    "paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
    "errors" : "Warning: Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade."
}

Edit: was pointed to a more recent (1.7) Source, that builds, too when modified slightly to work with modern c++ and boost

Let's see what the f*ck happened here.

How long will we wait? I ask from coinin telegram t.me/Cthulhu_Offerings that the admin does not know. I take a ticket to the exchange "it is not certain". my investment is going on day by day. I'm bored. damn it.

Don't worry guys, once Cryptopia has shed the other 4 million fake coins, Cthulhu OFF will be back to 1000 satoshi a piece. Just be patient.

As I don't own any coins and just stumbled upon this early June, I stopped investigating some days ago, but I got quite deep into the rabbit hole.
CMC now lists OFF tagged as "Inactive".
The chain is still moving, somebody is mining it, see https://chainz.cryptoid.info/off/
The latest source I got yields a daemon, but it won't connect to the addnodes I know.

My fear is that similar sudden attack-induced deaths could happen to other old coins, too.
Unfortunately, this has become quite easy due to services to easily rent hashes.
I thought of implementing a chain monitoring and protection solution that monitors the network, availability and changes in source, does anomaly detection in the blockchain and more. A job that is usually something the coin's dev and exchanges should do and cryptoid.info comes quite close at least for keeping public blockchain data.

Leave your Cthulhu addy here, I shall give some offerings unto you when I have access again to my coins on Cryptopia.

Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn

https://web.archive.org/web/20151118225613/https://codeload.github.com/thegreatoldone/offerings/zip/master 1.7 Source fooey its actually 1.5

Could easily hardfork and ban the 51'ed coins. It's a shitty thing to do, but so is 51% attacks.

This post sums up why all this bullshit is a scam
Read It. Hate It. Change the facts that it represents.

Here's the latest repo I had on my vps (1.7 on new bitcoin core) : https://github.com/zeewolfik/offerings

I've never been able to get 1.7 to sync so I've been using Bokrug, 1.6.2.

I would volunteer to be a part of keeping this coin alive but this supposed 51% attack gives me pause.  I'm not sure I'd want to touch it until I know what happened there.  Nice work vampirus keeping track of that.
