Oh come on. I don't think that's really possible. Yes Litecoin is faster but it's just a knock-off of BTC.
BTC is the real deal. If some coin will become the next BTC, there are far better choices than LTC.
LTC doesn't offer much useful upgrades to BTC. Only a bit faster, that's it.

No, this is not happening. Litecoin was in limelight earlier but charlie lee dumped it and so does others. It will rise again but not that much it could overtake bitcoin.

I'm a fan of LTC, but I don't think it ever desired to take on what Bitcoin is trying to do.  It seems content to be Bitcoin's silver and a nice testing ground for upgrades

There is no big competition, Bitcoin is always number one. But there can be competition for third and second trusted.

Are you saying that people are talking about how LTC will be more valuable than BTC and take a majority share of the market value?
If so, then all I can say is:  NO

LTC will never become as valuable as btc.
The reason why is because that category of crypto itself is already dying off.
Not only that, in that category there are infinitely better coins then btc and ltc.

BTC although I love it, will not last another year.
It has one maybe two more bull runs left in it and that's it.
The tech side of blockchain is moving so fast and BTC is already 9 years old.
LTC is only a slight improvement to the original blockchain model.

However, LTC itself can rise in value for awhile, and there can be potential short term gains to be had.
