yes. I also do not think that ICO will die, so hopefully ICO is still there anytime, because with the ICO we can all get additional income from follow-up campaign in ICO

Recently learned that more and more ICOs are closing deals through private sales and merely airdropping the coins. Will ICOs die, when will it?

They will die out when the first and second generation of ICOs need to start delivering their products. I think a lot of these tokens have goals that aren't technically possible yet. Many of them wont be able to operate legally because almost none of them bothered to adhere to relevant laws in countries they want their DAPP to operate in.
We will one day see a bunch of the first ones start to fail. People will start realizing that not every single thing on this planet needs its own blockchain, that we don't need 20 differently named copycat blockchains to do the same thing.

I think after this happens we will see legit mass adoption start. We just need all the bad tokens to fail, then I hope we see much less scams and bad projects as people will suddenly understand that an ICO can fail.

Dogs are nice, I don't like cats though.

honestly i dont have a right answer for that, ICO is a part of cryptocurrency history and won't die because new cryptocurrency trend always have a new idea for metamorphosed some new token based ICO. those reason why maybe 1-2 year in future ICO still alive or regenerated with new trend. just wait and see how ICO can have participied give a contribution to make a new currency which get some interest on their platform.

ICOs are not gonna die. The thing that's gonna die is the scammy shitcoin with no use case and no team or community, masquerading as a cryptocurrency crowdfund.

Everything in the world obeys simple rules. For example, if there is a demand for a product, there will always be an offer. There is absolutely the same. While this system will be effective and bring profit - it will exist. No pessimistic mood can convince those who will make it work. One can argue for hours on whether the ICO will die, but in practice it will be quite different. Either becomes ineffective and dies, or will continue to benefit both creators and participants. A more efficient system can also come out, but not in the foreseeable future. I do not understand this fashion for burial still alive.

In my views ICOs will never die, because ICOs are starting of its company.  ICOs are new in crypto market. So ICOs will not die.

When the regulators decide so  Grin Grin Grin
I don't think that ICO will die. Although if the regulators want (and after the hearing before 2 weeks, I think that they want), they will make a more difficult for one ICO to start. There will be more regulations and more things that have to be done so that one ICO could start. At least for ICOs in USA. But...I think that there are a lot of ICOs from other parts of the World where this is not a problem and basically, the ICO's will start launching their projects in those countries.
ICOs won't die. In fact, if you noticed there are already ICO's that wants to be register in their list to buy tokens on pre-sale. Registering in those sheets, this is becoming private sale, not crowd sale (at the stage of pre-sale) and this is valid by any global regulations. So....ICOs won't die !!! Smiley

In my own way of looking into your question I will say ICO will die when the world goes in extinction and this is because I haven't seen anything stopping people from ICO.

Any project need comunity. I know only two ways to get it: sell tokens to more people or give them for free (or for a bounty tasks). The second way is dangerous and is not suitable for some project (with weak tech/idea or weak marketing). People who got tokens for free usually dump them once they have a hcance (when the token is listed on the first exchange). Token price is dumped and even a good project will be in trouble. People like to invest in growing tokens.

Ico will continue if we can observe these days it has been in demand. And people are interested to joined this Ico that happening for long now. It will not die because the support are strong and more likely it will not end.

I don't what you are trying to say here since if theres an ICO most of the time they do go in public and private sales might be there but most of tokens sold because of the exposure been made on such crowdfunding. We might see some ICO don't put too much attention on marketing stuff but yet they do able to sold out their tokens which is somehow amazing but at the same time its really suspicious on my side.

There's new ICO almost everyday. Each one unique. I don't think ICO will die. I'm expecting more in the future. ICOs are fast profits provided you invested on the right one. I do research before investing. I look at the team first, is their project great. The token tradable and with potential. More to consider. ICO is a chance to know the coin better.

I think we are moving close to that stage, it is getting expensive to conduct KYC verification and since most of these projects demands 250Ethers for their private sale and the number of syndicate groups growing, I think most of these projects would be concluded at private sale level

ICO will not be held if there are no more good projects that investors would support. However, I think that in the coming years ICO is not going to die. They are still in demand by investors and bring good profit to all who are involved in this process, as well as convenience and benefit to those who use the services of released tokens.

ICO will not die don't worry as ICO gives fair idea about the project I don't think it will die and also ICO is helping both the users and developers.

I dont think ICOs are going to disappear anytime soon. This is huge deal and the only thing they are going to be regulated and that mean
they will get license and investors will need to upload picture ID and get the proof of valid address not older than 3 months.
These are amazing opportunities to invest early

I dont think, that ICO will die anytime soon.
It's too early to say that ICO will die very soon.

ICO activity will surely go down, as regular people start realizing, what is blockchain, how can it be used and what's the point of making a coin.
This is true, that's what I think as there are regulations that are coming and bitcoin isn't the only one that will be affected but also ICO's as well. And for the point of making a coin, there will be a certain use for it that's there are ICO's coming out for their own specific usage.

VLB is a prime example of a good ICO. They have a practical application for thei blockchain, a good incentive to use their tokens and, therefore, a good reason to have ICO.
Base on their timeline, their blockchain will be ready on 4th quarter this year and this why VLB is a good example that we don't know when ICO's will be dead as long as there are prime ICO's who are actively making good use of their own token and having various partners who will bring good contribution to the project, its hard to say when ICO's will be dead.

When?? Who knows? I saw this question like everywhere, no one really knows the answer. Seems like it won’t die soon because the market still continue to grow. There is a long path to go and there are lots of great Ico. So i’m very positive about that.

No, ICOs won't die.
Think about the bigger picture, although some are migrating towards airdrops, the vast majority don't or do a public sale with airdrops.

For startups that sell most of their coins in presale, that is an indicator of poor business practice.
The key element of long term success for companies blockchain is the continued support from a wide user base.
Allowing a handful of people to buy out all the coins before a public sale means they are either greedy, or don't have a strong financial analytics team or advisor.

The airdropped coins themselves are very different then if you were to purchase it.
Airdropping almost always guarantees a dump.

The tech is there for startups to open icos and airdrops.
So, rather than die, eventually icos will evolve.

I don't think ICO's will completely die but we're definitely in ICO season and I think it's not gonna last much longer. There's so much demand and so many people wanting to invest that it's just hard for all these great projects to give everyone what they want. So it's easier for them to turn to private investors with just a very small cap for the crowd, to spread their name and project etc.

But these things definitely come in waves. ICOs might become a bit less profitable for a while, maybe the big coins will take over or the alts will take over as the moneymaker and then maybe ICOs will rise again...
