Don't you think there may be upside because of starting off lower by trading with XPM to start?

Today is the day that the Lord has made, lets be glad and rejoice in it

It appears that GPU efficiency has just dropped again.

I stopped mining today because I estimated it would drop today or tomorrow. Plus the initial value is weak on it when it hit the markets and looks to drop more in the following days. I'm just going to hold on to the TIX I have and wait a month or two to see if it's worth keeping it.

Don't you think there may be upside because of starting off lower by trading with XPM to start?

Maybe or maybe not. But as of now and the near future, no upside. Would have been better on the LTC market or even the FTC market.

You can trade it for LTC and BTC on Bter. It's the only coin on all 3 markets. You don't think the price will rise when GPU mining gets even worse?

It's a double edge sword of sorts....Either it will attract people to trade more and pump the value...Or make the coin stale on the markets with no interest to trade higher, or worse, lower.....All we can do is wait and see approach, once the gpu efficiency drop one or two more times from now......I'm just sitting on 140 mil of TIX that I mined with 2x HD 5870's.....CPR is an example that the market for it is stale now since the gpu efficiency is so low now that barely trading is occurring.....TIX other half to succeed is the support side and specialized services....

Something strange is going on, im in process of doing some development.
Now i send 500 TIX from my home windows wallet to a "wallet server vps" with latest GIT LotteryTickets built from source on linux.
Now i do a  "./LotteryTicketsd getbalance 0 " on the linux box and im told my balance has now gone from 00.0000 to...
8291420363.63348293

Yet i only sent 500, i tested this with a new account "1" same deal.

Any idea whats up here, i am new to "bitcoin" "daemons" so maybe its something simple like it always does this ??
A "getinfo" shows the correct balance, so maybe this is a standard thing im not familiar with??
sorry any explanation would be appreciated. Is this something to do with confirmations?

Every account has the same large balance, but just a standard showbalance gives the correct 500.
ie: showbalance 1 gives 8291420363.63348293
    showbalance testtest gives 8291420363.63348293
    showbalance 99 gives  8291420363.63348293
    showbalance gives 500.000000

This kind of makes it impossible to develop anything??? Once again sorry for my newbie question.

Found this on the GIT bug section:
Quote

There is an issue LotteryTicketsd's RPC command getbalance. Whenever I give it an account it gives some value like 2065707226646.21020508. If the account doesn't exist, or has 0 balance, that is what it returns. Otherwise, it returns real balance + that value (in some cases some rounding takes place).

Here is another example: I have one account with 8797256.05272000 TIX. getbalance onthataccount gives x = 2065716023902.26293945. x - 2065707226646.21020508 = 8797256.052734375

Whats the story here any news?

BUMP!! Couldnt fix myself, seems im not the only one with problem, all linux makes has this problem. It really needs to be addressed.

Can we get a god dam update on this please, its in bug section on git hub and has been posted here......
This will be the prolem to make the coin die in the ass im telling you now. No idea how bter and those other sites managed, surly they are not hosting there wallets on WINDOWS 0_o...

What thread is that? I'd like to suggest putting it at least on another market, even if it was FTC. XPM just doesn't have enough volume to justify it trading with TIX.

Only issue I'm having with Windows client is the old checkpoint, but otherwise all the transaction work ok. But the Linux side of things, I hear some serious issues, those really need to get addressed asap.

My first deposit to BTER went wrong due to some doublespend error message, making it have the square icon in the transactions tab and showing '0/offline'. Then some time later it got confirmed and arrived at BTER!

It's an issue which has affected pretty much every PoW/PoS clone for a long time. The getbalance RPC command cannot be trusted and this includes Windows based clients too. For any account other than the default account you can get strange values returned.

When it comes to PoW/PoS clones on Crypto Blackjack, I instead use the listaccounts RPC command and iterate through the accounts until I get to the account I want the balance for.

Although this is not a perfect workaround either as Proof of Stake can create phantom coins which remain listed in the accounts even when they don't exist in the overall balance. I need to keep an account specifically for moving any phantom balance to in the event I get any coins from Proof of Stake and do a bit of manual calculation to figure out how many phantom coins are in the default account after it stakes.

As I said though it's not specific to TIX. it's an inherited issue that's not been fixed in any other PoW/PoS clone either.

Yeah it does the job and the listaccounts RPC method supports getting the account balances by number of confirms. Actually I don't iterate through the array it returns after all. I know the account name (array key) so I just grab the balance from the returned array using that. Forgetting the way my own code works. Wink

digusting this was put on the xpm market, however good for buying up more. I have bought tons more than i mined for hardly anything. Let's get some more good things going for this coin. I like how it will turn cpu only in the future too.

Any news on the coming poker site? even one like phenix coins old one would be great for the poker players to get involved.

Yes, XPM market blows right now, there's just not enough XPM to move a lot of coins. I've been buying a ton though so that's cool

That poker site looks awesome, I'll give it a shot. Thanks a ton!
