I found a project offering an airdrop but required participants to download and install their mobile app. The app is newly made with only few hundreds download and I don't think I'll ever use it.

Is it too risky?

yes, but not all apps are fake and fishing.
if it is obligatory, try to use emulator. If can not use emulator, keep your phone clean or buy new phone

It's too dangerous to install some third parties apps to your main phone. I'd recommend to avoid them or act like blackmagical suggests to.

Very danger and I will not follow. Airdrop that uses QT wallet usually pin discusses viruses that will take the data we all. keep it carefully, it is better to avoid the use of QT wallet airdrop, if you don't know completely about the project.

It's very risky to run an apps especially if you downloaded it somewhere else be sure you have anti virus to scan the apss you want to download. Try to search it in google if it's safe.

Never take risk for some stupid airdrops. Always go with the genuine and tested apps. You will not become poor if you miss the airdrop but you may get hacked if you go with the fake apps. Careful buddy!!

some bounty  or other testing program require downloads.
usually you should scan the app with a very good antivirus program before using.

Generally decent ico need a certain coin hold before they airdrop it such as eth ,waves, neo token airdrops.majority of airdrop that requires app to install are majorly scam or they are just doing for app advertising purpose.but there are some decent app airdrop as well such as recently there was lend airdrop that require eidoo wallet to install.

Yes, installing a mobile application from an unknown manufacturer is too risky. In such an application there may be viruses or programs stealing personal information.

that's right, we should avoid this sort of thing because it could give us more risk than what we get. actually I do not really like airdrop because usually they do not have good value in the market but sometimes they are also profitable.

if I think it's a complicated airdrop, so I will never follow the airdrop like that, there are plenty of other airdrops that are easier to follow, and also the app is likely to be at risk.

I would not install any app on mobile phone to get free tokens. There is high possibility the project could be a scam, or have some virus to still money or track the information from your mobile phone, the risk is too high.

I have experienced to encounter such thing into these kind of airdrops where you would really need to install an app.Either on pc or mobile installing into unstrusted sources into the internet will really have always that kind of risk or danger where you might able to get infected and stole of important informations store into your device.I have seen lots of scenarios based on my experience.Losing up money due to virus or malware is rampant. If you are careless enough then most likely you would really end up the same.
