Recently I am hearing some rumors or words that, Eth will beat bitcoin sooner or later.But I don't think so and I totally disagree with it. Bitcoin is Bitcoin, And Eth is like after Bitcoin, If bitcoin fall then eth will fall too. Then how can people think that ETH can Overcome Bitcoin? What do you think About this? Share your thoughts.
Personally, we have the same thought. I don't see that happening. But yea, everyone has his/her opinion. Here's mine. Bitcoin is not just a simple coin. It is the father of all altcoins. Values of altcoins depend on bitcoin. If it rise, others will follo and vice versa. Bitcoin is bitcoin. No other coin can surpass its value. I think others think that eth has more potential since its value is more stable than bitcoin |

Actually Ethereum depends on Bitcoin. There will be no Ethereum if bitcoin is not around. But it is possible that Eth can surpass bitcoin in terms of income. It all depends on the number of users and investors who will be backing up Ethereum.

it still hard for ethereum to compete with bitcoin because people only know bitcoin in their first time in the cryptocurrency and they only buy bitcoin. but after they know more about cryptocurrency, they will know ethereum but they don't think that ethereum will have a chance to beat the bitcoin although the possibilities are wide open. ethereum needs more time to compete with bitcoin and even if they have a solid team, only a matter of time will answer.

Bitcoin has a limited number of coins that are mined very slowly. ethereum has unlimited emissions and is produced faster than bitcoin. Therefore, if the price of ethereum does not fall, then after 1-2 years the capitalization of ethereum will be more than that of bitcoin. This is simple.

Ethereum handles more transactions than all the cryptocurrencies combined and that includes Bitcoin too in it. There are hundreds of dApps and tokens being built on the Ethereum platform. It has a strong dev team. And currently it can handle more transactions per second than Bitcoin.

Many people believe that Ether can really take the place of bitcoin. Since they believe in it, that's why they are looking for any confirmation of their meaning. This is analogous to the principles of religion. When you believe in something, you everywhere find evidence and confirmation of your faith. This is not bad and not good. It is so there. Everybody is not forbidden to think the way they want.

Both etherum and Bitcoin has it own way. As for me I don't think etherum can overthrow bitcoin. Bitcoin is the most recognized and most valuable coin in the whole world.

I do not think that ET will outrun the BTC. Tokens with a capitalization like that of the etherium will not be able to make several X's to outrun BTC

It has everything diffrent, contracts, projects, technics so etherum is just for me better and in near future people will believe in its power and that is how it will get stronger and price will be bigger. |

ETH is way different. People who say that are uninformed. ETH and BTC are both really great. In the long run, I think something else will take over though. Not sure yet which one or if it's even come out yet. Too many improvements are needed as is.

People always said that ETH will be the next Bitcoin. What's your thinking about that? Is it possible that someday it will cost as much now as Btc?
As for me I don't see the possibility of that happening for now. Because of the quick growth of ethereum, that is why people are think ETH will displace BTC soonest.

I think a lot of people are holding Ethereum, but not Bitcoin. Most of these people are hoping that Ethereum will grow like Bitcoin and will reach 10000$. I see no reason to think that this will happen.

Eth is a totally different project. It is all about smart contracts, and is not a direct competitor for bitcoin. If people say that they think Eth will overtake bitcoin in cap, then they mean they think smart contracts will be huge in the future and Eth will continue to lead the way as the biggest smart contract platform. Personally I think there is a reasonable chance that Eth could become #1 in cap. I totally agree with your statement. It’s the smart contract that plays vital role in the development of ETH. Bitcoin and etherium and two totally different platforms. People are comparing the underlying technologies of eth and btc and not comparing them as an asset of store of value. People saying eth will be huge surely mean that smart contracts will be huge in future which will make eth platform attract more project and ICO’s hence rising the market cap and price too. |

well, eth has a very stable price, and most often used as a new coin development platform. well, i think that someday, eth will be a very heavy competitor to bitcoin. well, I think a lot of people think like that. in addition, the current eth price is still much cheaper compared to bitcoin.

I myself am still not convinced that etherium is able to compete with bitcoin because the price difference is still very far and make etherium must be able to attract many enthusiasts if you want to have a high exchange rate.

Ethereum is also a good form of money and it has many users so now the people are considering that bitcoin and Ethereum has the same status but it is not true the influence of bitcoin is more than the Ethereum in the crypto market and the value usage and importance of bitcoin is more than any other coin in the crypto market. It could happen, but bitcoin tends to lead the market recovery, which means the gap between BTC and ETH is likely to grow in the short term. Maybe ETH can overtake in the longer term, but who knows? Agreed that there is certainly a chance as it is a good project and smart contracts will be big. IoT will also be big so maybe IOTA or a competitor can also take number one spot. |

Its not about the price that people are talking about its about the market capitalization of bitcoin and ethereum that are being compared. Ethereum can never overcome bitcoin in the terms of price, but ethereum can overcome bitcoin in terms of market capitalization. And falling of bitcoin doesn’t affect ethereum at all. When the whole market cap drops, all the coins fall in which bitcoin is included. Its not like bitcoin falls so everything falls. It’s the pouring of money and cashing it out in the market. |
