Most of the altcoins are down 90% from their peak valuations in 4th QTR 2017. Only a few cryptos have fared better and these include Ripple, Stellar and Ethereum. Others like Cardano and NEO have witnessed bloodbaths.

Unfortunately, this is the truth. Many altcoins will die in several years, man. I guess, that the main task for most of us now is to realize which of the cryptocurrencies will survive.

Those that'll will survive are those that have usability in the real world - real use case coins,  and those that will drive mainstream adoption.  One coin I love mainly for its use case is Tapcoin.  I buy drinks and dinner sometimes with it,   they have over 100k partners worldwide and are still going.

I think people are wary of altcoins because of the many scams in 2017.

Scams are bad because they dampen adoption and gives all the altcoins a bad name.

What I suggest is to do your own research and invest in altcoins that make sense and preferably, already live.

To serve the common need of people that weren't fulfilled by the traditional fiat, an advancement that function completely on technology came into existence. In simple terms an alternative to the fiat system with multiple usage than the traditional fiat and lots of benefits.

Altcoins

Growth without competence is something like a manipulation, this gets fulfilled by the existence of altcoins that follow the base of altcoin and functions on different platforms based on the blockchain technology. This can be mentioned as a alternative to the bitcoin for some reason, because some features of altcoins gain more importance than the bitcoin. In specific at times altcoins were preferred over bitcoin to reduce the transaction fee.

Bitcoin is the reason altcoins exists. No Bitcoin, No Altcoins. From start, bitcoin brought the confidence that one can use a digital currency as a store of value, global transactions and so on. And from that ideology, came altcoins. Like I always say, ‘When Bitcoins coughs, altcoins cough as well’. However, I believe some other altcoin will live to surpass Bitcoin. For now, Bitcoin is still the master.

In my personal opinion, bitcoin and altcoin have quite a close relationship, and not all altcoins will rise when bitcoin rises there are also altcoins that decline but there are also altcoins that go up even most altcoins go up when bitcoin rises, for example ethereum, bitcoin gold and there  some more that I don't know

Perhaps, bitcoin and altcoins are working together. I mean they are helping to one another, through when bitcoin goes up most of the potential altcoins are dumping their price in the market. Where it is actually chance for the traders to buy then hold, then for the Bitcoin holders it is a good time to sell, then when it goes down, buy back is the simplest way to get profit again in the end.

Compared to the starting of the year there is good growth with bitcoin and the leading altcoins., but that too hasn't reached high as that of the growth taken place with bitcoin. Rest of the altcoins were on the same level than very small price increase which according to the growth of 2017 was very high while bitcoin was crossing the same price that we've reached this time.

Perhaps the direct effect of altcoin on the development of bitcoin, which is a good step at the moment, is not very impactful, obviously not too. maybe because of the high number of altcoins that are growing and scams that affect. but for a good altcoin and growing together with bitcoin is pretty much.

I think all the different scams made regular investors hesitant to invest in altcoins.

For technical investors, scams are very easy to spot and bad investments are also very easy to spot.

However, for the non technical investors, they have no idea which altcoin is a scam and which altcoin is not a scam so they go with the safest choice, which is Bitcoin.

yeah, the price of Bitcoin is rising well and increas is high, it looks like other coins are difficult to keep up with the increase in the price of Bitcoin. I don't know what is the reason why Altcoin doesn't rise simultaneously with Bitcoin. not the same as years 2017 ago, where was that time Bitcoin and Altcoin rose simultaneously.

yeah, the price of Bitcoin is rising well and increas is high, it looks like other coins are difficult to keep up with the increase in the price of Bitcoin. I don't know what is the reason why Altcoin doesn't rise simultaneously with Bitcoin. not the same as years 2017 ago, where was that time Bitcoin and Altcoin rose simultaneously.

When investing in the market, I always believe that bitcoin and altcoins are bound for success and because of that I don't panic when I see bitcoin is rising and altcoins are falling as I know it's just temporary for altcoins, eventually altcoins will slowly recover and will rise altogether with BTC.

There are some altcoins which are already rising now but we know it's very small compared to the total legit altcoins, but we need to be patiently waiting for the time, otherwise we will not experience the success.

There's some reason why some altcoin are still not move up but in the end that altcoins will follow the growing price of bitcoin.Just be patience because not all will get easy in crypto it takes time to grow.

People are all expecting a breakout from the altcoins but I know that it will take much more time before it happens. It's 1 and a half year before that even happened and I think 2 years will be enough for our wait. You guys better stocked up those good projects that has sunked down 100x and above from their moon price because they will make lucrative roi when it start to rise.

Only popular altcoins are showing improvement, some of them are not even moving. This is the reason why other investors are selling their altcoins to switch in bitcoin because the growth of btc has a good impact for traders to assume bull run might happen for this year.

We thought the price increase of bitcoin can pull the price of altcoins just like what happened before but its different. So I think we have to wait longer for alts to bounce back lets just be patient.

Bitcoin is the no.1 cryptocurrency in terms of the number of users and acceptability and that is the reason why it continues to increase in value. The value for most of the altcoins come from speculation that at some point of time in the future they may be able to overtake Bitcoin in some or all the spheres. But now it looks like these alts are not capable of doing so and therefore they are going down and BTC is increasing in value.

The altcoins will indeed suffer for a while because of a very bullish Bitcoin. It is going to be a red sea of altcoins for the next weeks or so. But of course there will always be some little spikes. It will never be about free fall. Altcoins are always great choices. When the smoke of Bitcoin rally goes down, be ready to buy a lot of altcoins because their turn will follow.
