Hello.

Been investing on and off, and there seems to be copies/forks all around at the moment.
Particularly the masternode and proof of stake hype.

I've been watching Joulecoin for some time, how many developers are still active?

I have seen JohnJoule who has been doing updates and maintenance from time to time.

Is there any forum or slack channel I'm unaware of?
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Pow coin. No premine here. All coins here having a WORK price.

Developers are active still beginning. We are not a junk coin that no developers seen in its forums.

Twitter : https://twitter.com/joulecoin?lang=en

Halving estimated date  Saturday, August 24, 2019..

Sometimes we write at discord   JouleCoin
https://discordapp.com/

Yes we have low marketcap. Lots of junkcoins have 20x times more than us but no developer seen. This is an interesting world.
I dont care it anymore. Last one i saw was Bitok coin, that went to graveyard with 100's of BTC selling.

Ohhh just forget pepe coin here https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/pepe-cash/
You see the market cap ? LoL...PEPE CASH...

And our explorer is here https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xjo/

http://money.cnn.com/data/world_markets/asia/

The stock markets are gonna let us know a lot about cryptos' future. (See that the Shanghai Composite Index closed in the green? Government money. Always goes like that.)

EDIT: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-02-12/chinas-plunge-protection-team-arrives-urges-companies-boost-stocks-avoid-selling

'the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and other regulators "advised and encouraged" some major stockholders to purchase more shares in the mainland-listed firms they invest in.'

Watch for a particular thing, moskovskiy: this year and next, more people will see that the promises of 2017's high-flyin' ICO projects are not being fulfilled. But XJO makes no such promises.

Its job is to be a cryptographic unit. It fulfils that job. It's perfect.

Hello everybody.  I have been introduced to this coin very recently by @IMZ and I have to say that I am very interested in where this is going.
'XJO -- No one is going back in time to create more 2013 coins.' -IMZ

As @harlanjs did last year in Oct 2017, here is my XJO address: Jd5UpsnNd11zAqVCL1ZVf4PrxSNW9jNMcp
IMZ is already going to fund my beginnings.  Just posting for placeholder and I'm not asking for handouts.

I have a question right off the bat that maybe somebody can answer.  I see on the github that a new update for version 0.12 was just completed.  What will be the process of updating 0.10.4.2?  I literally just downloaded the 0.10.4.2 version last night and it's currently syncing.  Please tell me that I can reuse the synced data Smiley

Are the mining pools still active for this project? which one is best if so?  I would like to get more into mining if it's active.  Any tuts on this particular coin would also be very appreciated.  Perhaps @virtual_miner could help out?

Also, looking back over the thread it looks like this was posted at one point: 'TheCoin.pw Joulecoin (XJO) SHA256 Mining Pool is partnering with Mining Rig Rentals to help users mine Joulecoin. TheCoin.pw is also a great pool if you do have mining equipment.'
Is this legit or was @ComputerGenie trying to say it was a scam?

@remistevens - whats the ETA on the new site?  I loved the new site design and mobile wallet app mock up.  Lightning bolt may be confused with lightning network for BTC, but that may work in our favor Smiley

@remistevens - you also asked 'Do the transactions write to the blockchain, are they permanently recorded? If so could that be used for publishing/proving ownership of text?' and never got a reply.
I looked into a transaction that IMZ posted as a test to spazzdla and this is in the raw transaction data:    "txid": "31b3cd6c1cf4ee3bfc96eaed8f87843bd0e8bee3786e70dc2f014a459ad268f2",
   "version": 2,
   "locktime": 0,
   "tx-comment": "text:spazzdla",
Pretty dang awesome!  It would be really easy (maybe) to utilize this for much more with a well-designed mobile platform.

Looking forward to more discussion on this project!

I wasn't saying anything about the pool, one way or the other, outside of the fact that "partnering with Mining Rig Rentals" was an outright crock of shit.

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

Far from panic, me. Have put in a small withdrawal as a test. Will post about how that goes.

EDIT: Okay, waaaaay short of panic; but no, my withdrawal hasn't come through in six hours.

EDIT EDIT:

'The figures tell the story – a year ago Cryptopia had 30,000 users, rising to 1 million in December 2017.

After the first week of January, the number of users hit 1.4 million, causing difficulties in managing the site and requiring suspension of some trading and registrations.

Dawson said staff were working overtime to raise levels of service, more people were being hired, and the company was developing processes as quickly as possible to cope with the demand.'

Fellow coiners and I are monitoring Cryptopia. In 48 hours, had two XJO withdrawals come through, two other altcoin withdrawals come through, and I have one more withdrawal of another alt presently in the pipeline. Will post an update tomorrow.

[Hate to see folks trading on Yobit: untrustworthy exchange.]

EDIT: Withdrawal came through overnight

Cryptopia seems okay at this second.

And there's a bid for 2,000,000 XJO at 120 -- nice!!

'Japan’s Kumamoto-Energy, a local power producer and supplier from Kumamoto City, has revealed that it recently began using solar power for mining cryptocurrencies. This is another example of how, contrary to environmental hysteria by mainstream media sources, cryptocurrency mining can enable a greener future using renewable energy.'

http://dailybitcoinnews.com/japanese-electricity-company-uses-excess-solar-power-for-crypto-mining/

All POW fans gotta get up to speed on this issue, be able to counter the 'hysteria.'

[My favourite claim is that, within a few months, cryptos will be using all the electricity in the world!! But how would we know? There'd be no electricity for the little meter that tells you how much electricity you're using!]

Quote
The company says that it aims to effectively use its surplus electricity by mining cryptocurrencies with the output of its solar power generation plants.

I'd like to know who decides what is surplus.

Quote
By using excess capacity when it is available to mine, the crypto economy is making remote renewable energy more affordable and profitable and thus much more likely to be tapped into.

Given the track record of China and its regulations and practices, I would assume that 'when it is available to mine' will mean nothing and they will be mining whether there is 'surplus' or not.  They will of course eventually start feeding off of the regular sources of electricity.

It's all an interesting concept though.

Starting to get a solid buy-floor under the price. Still got the 2M bid at 120.

Nice spike this morning, and the buy-floor is strengthening at around 120.
