Most important thing is just let make sure we gamble with what we can afford to loss so emotions won’t trigger us that much.  But emotions are bound to occur but we just have to strong discipline so we can stick to our little strategies.

I was about to type “it’s not as easy as you make it sound” before I read this paragraph.

Even with an amount that you can afford to lose, you’ll still feel some emotion if you lose it, it might not be as strong as when you lost money that has been budgeted for a specific task, but still you’ll feel something. After all we’re human, and it’s the emotions that gives us our humanly behavior.

You are right mate, we are humans and emotions are bound to fall in and even with what we can afford to loss feelings does pop in when we fail and make losses with it instead of profits but losing what one can afford to loss and is much more acceptable than not expecting to loss so much and we end up losing.

If you can handle your emotion, lose feeling will not increases as you will realize that gambling will not always gives you the win. You realizing that sometimes you win and lose and that will take turns.

It is normal having those bad feelings but the thing is we should know how to manage it. It is not easy but with practice you will be good and accept the lose.

It's not like a hidden fact or a secret at all, and all people know that they can not win forever or lose forever. So it is very important to manage their finance then gambling capital, and gambling activities so that they won't lose all money in gambling capital and all their finance by one, two or several bets. They must use only very small part of finance for gambling capital and never use all money in that gambling capital for one bet or several bets.

It's responsible gambling that starts with finance management, gambling capital management, then their bet style.

We are humans and even if you are good at controlling your emotions, there are going to be times when you might lose it. Gambling isn’t the only thing we do with our lives, we do other activities and most times those activities affects us, even if it doesn’t show immediately, it most definitely leaves a trace in us and with time it builds up and a little trigger can make you act in the most irrational manner known to you.

So I wouldn’t completely rule out the fact that losing continuously won’t affect you, even if it doesn’t show immediately, it will one day and depending on your level of control, you might be able to suppress it so it doesn’t cause huge problems.

Sometimes I check my emotions too when playing gambling if I want to play with a feel that im lucky that time I will play but if im not into the mood and seems something feel off I step a side and think again before playing, because if you are getting overwhelmed with your emotions possible you might lead a wrong decision making with your current game. Such as making a huge single bet, make a revenge wage, and etc.

There is nothing wrong to use your emotions but make sure you are still have a conciousness with your action. In short self awareness.

We must have emotion and be affected by emotion too as we are all human. If we don't have emotion and are not affected by emotion, we are like robots, no longer as human, so the bottom line is we can not avoid emotion, get rid of emotion or avoid its effects. We have live and deal with these things so the best way is to reduce its effects by proactively prepare some things like

Limit our money used as gambling capital for bets.
Identify and limit our bet times each day.
Define and limit our total money used for bet each day.

Then these things will help us minimizing effects from emotion and emotional actions.

A responsible gambler can handle his/her emotions even if he/she losses a bet or multiple bets because they know that in gambling there's high chance of loss than winning especially the ones who play casino based games know that house always has higher edge and house most probably has more odds of winning than losing against a player.

They know how to control their emotions after losses and they don't chase their losses either. Those gamblers in long term are the ones whom we can call happy and responsible gambler. They'll never get addicted to gambling because for them it's just a fun activity and nothing else.

Gambling responsibly gives us calm emotions even after we face loss because we expected such thing to occur or even more than that.
The best approach in gambling is by risking or staking what one can afford to loss, despite we know that even what we can afford to loss disrupt our emotions but it better than risking more than that after all.

Just gamble with however you want.

No strategies needed for as long as you are gambling with any amount you can afford to lose. Take it slowly and you'll just be fine.

Avoid being attached to your bets emotionally and if you lose, move on and accept it. Enjoy the bets and the money you'll be putting there bro, and good luck.
I hope this positive opinion you give many users learn from it and follow it because when we start losing in gambling many new users get attached to their emotions and feelings after facing losses. After so much loss many just start to chase after their losses which is not a proper way when gambling.

Most important thing is just let make sure we gamble with what we can afford to loss so emotions won’t trigger us that much.  But emotions are bound to occur but we just have to strong discipline so we can stick to our little strategies.
Each of us have their own beliefs as we gamble.

But do not forget that we're all free to do whatever we want when we do it. Just always be cautious about what we feel when we do it because that's when many gamblers fall shortly.

Ya, I usually just yolo into my bets and cross my fingers. I only asked because I have a simple workflow so I was wondering if anyone here had a different approach like having a plan or systems that which bets they should take or not, etc. That's why I asked. As for losses, I take every bet I play as 50/50 because I know regardless of the probability (high or low), no outcome in gambling is 100% guaranteed.
You are right, there's no guaranteed outcome when we gamble and that's why what works for us with cautiousness is important to remember.

I think another mindset one could have towards gambling that can help reduce the whole urge of wanting to chase after their losses is for them to just treat everything lost to gambling as the "cost of entertainment". I haven't really tried it, so it's just a theory I have, but then again, if we treat it as a cost of entertainment, then we might not really think too much about it.

It's more like taking everything the same way I would take a video game, and from my experience, I know that all the money that I have spent on my gaming account, I usually don't feel much, and I think if I take that same mindset to gambling, I will most likely not think about it too much, coupled with the whole "use what you can afford to lose".

Like I said, it's just a theory, so reality might be entirely different from what I just described above.

In my case, I always approach sports betting as if I were playing Pro Evolution Soccer, a computer game. I bet a small amount of money, something like $5 or $10 at most per week, and if I lose, it's not the end of the world for me; on the contrary, I live normally as if nothing happened.

When I win a bet, I celebrate and set aside the part that goes towards my weekly bankroll, but I don't carry negative feelings towards gambling. I don't bet money I can't afford to lose, and I don't stop doing things in the real world because of gambling. I don't take out loans to gamble at casinos. I follow my rules with great determination.

I've been telling people in my country that the most important thing in gambling is to wager an amount you can afford to lose and to have good bankroll management. Before putting money into gambling, you should first pay all your real-world bills. Don't gamble thinking you'll make a profit to pay real-world bills, because that leads people into debt and destroys their lives forever.

Yes, the MLB season is here. Maybe I'll start participating in the Games and Rounds contests again, but I've noticed they're not as frequent as before. Anyway, I guess the important thing is to be there, at least once a month. Smiley

Regarding those who use that poorly promoted and deeply ingrained slogan—literally saying "I'm going to burn money"—I don't care. I prefer the equivalent of "I'm going to bet money I can afford to win." Cool The other is pessimistic and losing.

Anyway, the important thing is to understand the concepts and advice you share in your post; that's what matters.

I like your approach to gambling, really nice, and it keeps you in the safe zone and at the same time, you get to enjoy it to the fullest.

I am curious, though, when you see people talk about treating gambling as a job or those who take it too seriously to the extent that they would first budget their gambling money from their salaries before they even start settling their other needs, what's the first thought that crosses your mind when you read posts like that?

That's a good approach but we all know that even losing what we can afford to lose can hurt our emotions sometimes and thus it's better to only gamble for fun and only place bets when you want to enjoy sometimes with casinos games or you're interested in placings bets on a league matches. There's no need to gamble everyday and a good gambler knows that, and that's why they only gamble when they want to have some fun time and they never gamble to make money from the casinos.

That's right, this is a good approach, and this risk management can be applied to any deposit. What I mean is, if someone else has a higher budget for a week, you simply stick to your own limits, and that will work just as well. Problems arise when you start betting much more than you can afford to lose, I think this is common among players who believe they can make money from gambling. Sometimes, to be sure of something, all we need is our own experience, and other people's advice won't help in such cases.

If people do things responsibly and have good discipline, they will stick with their own limits that match with their lower or higher budget for a week. No matter they have big or small budget, if they are disciplined and responsible, they will always stick with their strategies, capital and risk management so that they won't take action that exceeds their weekly budget and limits.

It's very classic advice in risk and capital management that is applicable for all areas including gambling and gambling resonsibly.

At least losing what one can afford to let go is much better than losing what we can afford to let go because that emotions is more deeper and it triggers way more harder than losing what we can let go. Gambling shouldn’t be done as daily routine activities and it shouldn’t be also seen as what can sort out our bills because that just the mindset many people approach it with and that very wrong.
Let avoid excess gambling and let not treat it as a way of making money instead let enjoy the fun involve and the entertainment despite we all know it just few gamblers that gambles for fun and entertainment the others are just about making profits and money.

I know I have been of the "gamble what you can afford to lose" opinion, but still, there are times when we see some opportunity, when two teams are going against each other, and you know clearly what's going to be the outcome. I am not against putting a bit more in those types of bets, though, but the only thing I would caution against is making it something you do frequently... Once in a while, we do see games as I mentioned above, and just throwing in a few extra amounts really isn't a bad idea IMO, aside from that situation, stick within your limit and don't go above it.

Yes, the MLB season is here. Maybe I'll start participating in the Games and Rounds contests again, but I've noticed they're not as frequent as before. Anyway, I guess the important thing is to be there, at least once a month. Smiley

I haven't bet on the MLB before and I have only seen the sports only in movies. That's probably why I haven't bet on it before. Compared to football or NBA do you think its easier to predict or much harder?  I'm just thinking if there are any other sports that are either easier to predict or chances of winning is high or is the game completely rigged for all sports?

That quote is very subjective because sometimes, if you have strong convictions about something, betting more than you normally would for events you have almost no conviction about is better.
