Hi Tranz,

I downloaded 1.2.1 and I'm not having any problems at the moment (other than missing commands you put in the latest version).  I'm still getting the checkpoint is too old error...

I just have some questions on how stake works.

Do I have to leave my HoboNickles in my wallet for a solid 10 days before the Stake: 0.00 HOBO becomes positive?  Or is it possible some of the HoboNickels I bought have "aged" somewhat?  Also,  do I have to have my wallet running the whole time to receive the stake or just turn it on once every couple of days or so?  In short, how do I know that I'm gaining stake?

HOBO: Enn5G99LnAt13GXeDWSLkMdnL1StjXtVhf

Thanks!

Thanks!

If you removed the 3 files listed in the important information section of the release notes, that warning should go away. Its not an error and will not effect that functionality of the gui. I will be adding in automated checkpoints in the future, so these warning will be a thing of the past.

Concerning stake, you do not need to leave the wallet running 24/7. Doing so is helpful to the network, as you are an honest node, but not required. Once your coins age the minimum of 10 days, they will begin mining for stake.  Depending on the coin size and coin age, your chance for stake increases. The maximum weight is hit at 30 days.  You will know you are getting stake as you suggested the coins will move from balance to Stake. After 25 confirmations they will move back balance.  You can also see what has staked under transactions, using the PoS Mined Type drop down. Most stake seems to be happening fairly soon after the 10 day mark. Some of my larger coins have taken 11-12 days.

Due to some late orphans in the chain. I HIGHLY recommend all mining pools set the number of confirmations to 100 before payout.

I also suggest all merchants raise their to 50 at least as well.

I'll continue to work this code so it can become more stable.

Guys there is an issue with the stake. Please do not attempt to do large stakes right now, they are being orphaned afte many confirms and cause the chain to roll back. I am working to fix as fast as possible.

Please stop client and restart with -reservebalance=999999

We got suspended from Cryptsy for a large roll back due to PoS and PoW not playing nice. I am doing all in my power. Any help from Sr. Dev's would be greatly appreciated.

I am not going to abandon this coin, so please stick with us.  We'll get this sorted out.

I believe I have the problem localized and addressed. I am doing some initial testing and then i will release a mandatory update.

Please do NOT attempt to run stake until I give the word. Make sure to run clients with -reservebalance=999999

Thanks everyone for your patience.

Seems like 100 is too small.
Right now were ~-300 blocks rollback.
Disabled payouts on my pool completely until this situation will be resolved.
Its impossible for pools continue work with that Sad

Everyone must upgrade. You have until Nov 4th GMT or you will be disconnected.

https://github.com/Tranz5/HoboNickels/releases/tag/1.2.1.3

Do not run any stake until I say the coast is clear.

Well I didnt see your last messages HoboMaster, and ran hobo client update v1.2.1.0 last night after a several weeks of offline.
Today I see about 7 or 8 pos-orphanes and in the middle of them 1 pos with about 6 confirms, which become orphane too in couple of minutes (with 0 confirms), and coins which were hold for pos-generation returned to balance. Strange.)

Now I see you msgs and what am I have to do? Clean install of 1.2.1.3 with chain and other files (except .conf and wallet) deleted?

I hope you'll fix (or fixed it) and hobos'll not become caps-like with tonns of problems.
May be you need some sort of consultation from Balthazar?

I have sent Balthazar, mullick and other a request for assistance. They are busy with their own projects.

Clean install is best, but at this point even just running the correct exe is a huge step in the right direction.

We have to get everyone on 1.2.1.3. The faster the better. If all get on I can push thru some auto CPs as well.

We are making progress in the blockchain so that is good. Albeit 2 steps forward 1 step back. The more people on the right version that quicker we should get this train on track.

I see this got relisted on Cryptys. Someone must have wanted to remove their buy wall(or buy more!).  In any event I have asked them to greatly raise the confirmations and be sure they are on the correct version.

I have taken the day off of work. So I will be monitoring the situation closely.
