Finally a great looking wallet for Mac users. Looking forward to see this evolving!

When opening the app the first time, it's not really clear what each sub page is doing. A short one-sentence description on each page would be great.

Any plans for Litecoin support?

How much work would it be to change to the litecoin protocol?

That looks great.

An easy to use OS X wallet could go a long way to helping spread adoption.

Look forward to seeing more apps added  Tongue

Adding Litecoin support would be awesome, and we want to do it. In fact, we spoke with Charles here in Amsterdam about that very topic. Charles said that 'bitcoinj' for Litecoin is presently in development. So, once that is released, it will be fairly trivial for us to add support... And indeed, such support is theoretically possible even earlier: BitcoinKit supports bitcoind, so if someone were to modify that to support litecoind (seems trivial to me), a Litecoin version could be released. We probably won't do it anytime soon because of so much other stuff we need to get to, but this is all on our radar.

If you want to get a head start, how about sending us a very motivating pull request? ;-)

When opening the app the first time, it's not really clear what each sub page is doing. A short one-sentence description on each page would be great.

Several people have mentioned this. Probably we can just modify these a little, to add more description about the page/tab itself:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=304060.msg3257314#msg3257314

So for example, perhaps:
"This is where you make transactions. It looks like you haven't made any yet, so click here to send some Bitcoin"

What do you think?

A word of warning:

Be careful with the MineField app, as we have reports of people losing money in it (as in, not even being able to play). We will be pulling it from the build shortly, until we get that resolved. An issue has been created here:
https://github.com/hivewallet/hiveapp-minefield/issues/1

good job guys.  I wish you had a feature where it gave us a running conversion in whatever currency we choose just to confirm our amounts.  I had a friend accidently send out over 20 btc because he wasn't paying attention to his decimal points and I think that kind of clarity is going to be needed for the average user.

thanks!

You my friend are a sage. We have already built this feature and it is going to be added to production soon (needs a bit of UI work). Right now it pulls from Mt.Gox rates; will that be alright?

Unfortunately even after deleting the prefs and restarting, I still don't see any apps. I did successfully receive a transation though, so it's working.

Mt Gox is currently skewed significantly from every other rate. There is a library called Xchange which is what MultiBit uses. Alternatively BitPay export their blended rates:

https://bitpay.com/api/rates

It'd be great to have some support for exchange rates in bitcoinj if anyone wants to contribute.

I know, I felt abused as a mac user. Is there a ticker that works on 10.6.8 yet? I don't want to upgrade.

Doesn't this one?

I'm sorry that I couldn't test it myself, I have no 10.6 machines around.

This client looks absolutely amazing, and it's a job well done. Shame that it's Mac OS X only, though. Some of the features that this wallet has would be pretty useful to me.  Undecided
